Memphis lack of depth causes that a key player injured turns the team completely vulnerable. This team rely too much on Marc, Z-Bo and Conley and whitout on of them is first roudn exit or even worse.
I expect a close game until the end

Heat are a bad team though with weak depth.

True, but I said that because lots of people were overreacting in the first three weeks about this Grizzlies team, some even calling them favorites. When in reality they are barely pretenders, and only when they are all healthy.

They can win the title if they stay healthy and get hot in the playoffs
I wouldn't call them pretenders by any means
I think the Grizzlies need one more offensive creator.

yeh, if this and the Cavs game are a sing of things to come from Granger it could end up a very good signing. Deng has been looking better recently as well. Heat really need Bosh to compete with top teams though.
The defense is horrible this year.

Haslem is such a liability, on both ends these days. Heat not going to do anything this year if Spo insists on playing him and Cole significant minutes. Since when has the Haslem/Granger frontcourt ever been a good combination? It's been disastrous each and every time.
Gasol is just playing out there. Not even trying.

What would you do to change the Grizzlies to a real contender?
Refs. Stop.
Chalmers. Die.

A good defensive SF with lenght that can score at least 12-15ppg like Leonard, Hayward, Draymond, Parsons, etc. is what this team need more. Probably moving Lee to the bench should not add enough scoring options and another burst scorer when hot like Barea or Aaron Brooks would be required.

Wade working HARD out here. This dude has as big of an impact on the game as any player in the league people need to shut the **** up.

despite whiteside's unrefined game, i like him. he's the only competent rebounder on the heat. he doesnt get his rebounds tipped away or stolen from him. if he's in position to get the rebound, he gets it. so many times ive seen easy rebounds just get taken away.

Wades gonna end up avg over 25ppg. who would of thought that?hes atleast 80-85% to what he was at his peak (and thats not a knock because his peak was one of the best ever).
you cant not have him as a top 5 player,i hate how people automatically dont look at him as a top player because they think hell get hurt/injured. Lebron, davis, durant, westbrook, and maybe harden but wades effiecintcy puts him over to me. Im just wondering why media and espn wont acknowledge that wades back to being one of the best in the game...
think if this heat team was healthy all year,15 outta 30 havent hade wade or bosh...would atleast be 5 games over .500 or better. Having this type of wade in the playoffs with a healthy bosh they cant suprise any east team.

To be fair Wade has missed alot of games and has a bad record.
Not doubt when things start to normalize he'll be considered a top 10 player if he stays healthy.

Hamilton sucks. Looking forward to Bosh and Whiteside playing together. We might actually be a decent rebounding team by then, and he seems to be making decent strides. He's been impressive.

My thinking is Spoestra will shelve him when Bosh comes back. Looks good though. Need a rebounder badly.

To be fair, Granger looks like he might be making himself serviceable, same with Whiteside - provided Bosh comes back and we don't have another rash of injuries the season will get better as it goes on i think.
Bosh has misses as many games as Wade now :facepalm
When is that fool getting back? He's only got a calf strain.

Good game. It's frustrating as hell to keep losing these kind of games, but at least there were some encouraging signs from the team this time.
I actually have to agree, as much as the notion of moral victories sucks. By far, the most encouraging development this week has been the play of Granger. If he can maintain this level of performance more often than not, it changes the dynamic completely.
Second is the play of Birdman. Combined with Granger's play, there are the faintest signs of an actual team here, especially once Bosh gets back. There's chatter about trading him, but I can't see the wisdom in that unless you get a very good return. Signing Blatche could make it worthwhile (but it's a huge question mark), but unless you get a starting calibre PG out of the deal, I'd rather go with a center tandem of Bird/ Blatche, and just hope for better play from Chalmers and especially Cole.
Third is Deng's consistency, as long as he has opportunities.
The potential issue is that these "encouraging signs" may be coming too late. The Heat's schedule is about to get brutal, and the onus remains on Wade to be nearly perfect for 4 quarters, which is asking a lot at this stage of his career.
At this point all I care about is making the playoffs, with the #7 seed if possible (because it's obvious the Bulls will end up #1; the Cavs don't even scare me anymore). Winning a round or, dare I say it, two would just be a bonus.
This Heat team is going to be the 6th seed when it's all said and done. Mid 40's win total.
Nuff Said

Shit is like watching heat pre-lebron era heat. Wade balling out his mind yet still losing constantly. Shit is frustrating.
