Didnt see most of the game. Usually Westbrook stops himself. Was Rondo shutting down his drives and contesting his pull up jumper?

Mavs defense was great on him most of the game. Auto-doubled any post up attempts in the first (he pretty much abandoned posting up smaller guards after that), sped back on any transition attempts, and contested his jumpers without fouling. Pretty much seemed like the plan was "anybody but Westbrook" for the game.

They defended him very, very well as a team. I've not seen him have such trouble finding his spots this season. He had no space coming off pick and rolls, neither for driving past the defender or even for pulling up from the elbow. Other teams should take notes

Came to post this. Westbrick is a real thing folks. Every once in a while you get the alter-ego

That was a mixture of Westbrook looking worn down and a great defensive gameplan for Dallas. Westbrook didnt play too bad, it was just a tough spot due to decisions Brooks made.

Mavs played great defense at the rim, and trapped him very well but Westbrook was having a off night offensively. He just had his worse game of the season, He didn't looked like himself today.

From what I've seen, Rondo has stepped his defense up since the trade. Didn't see this game though, I'm sure it was just an off night for Westbrook.

Rondo played amazing, his defense is playing instant dividends to the mavs, he has this knack of getting his wirey long arms in other teams offense and gets them off their rhythm

No, the Mavericks just had a good game plan of doubling RW in the post and making him see multiple bodies on his drives, which is much easier to do without KD, and OKC usually has a couple of non shooters out there to play off of them.

This.

Rondo has definitely taken his defense up to a higher level since joining the Mavs. I'm looking forward to downloading last night's game and watching him.

Watching more Mavs than Celts at this point. :hammerhead:
