one of the greatest combo scoring/shooters of all time? absolute clinic in this game. bulls lost thanks to a few bad performances from jordan and the other bulls - but this was kukoc at his finest.

OT - but do you guys feel he gets underrated? his game sort of reminds me of ginobili's, just less athletic and without the playmaking. both are wiry and unorthodox with their movements. of course both are left handed as well.

I was at this game ... he scored 30, not 31 IIRC. Shame they couldn't have won the CHIP at home in front of me.

:pimp:

The Waiter was en fuego. Rest of the Bulls struggled with their shot. I think they all took their gas off the pedal thinking Utah would fold after that historic beat down they gave them in game 4. Karl showed up in a big way too.

Pippen then became a shell of himself, and then Mike had that iconic game 6 dragging the old Bulls through sheer will to their 2nd 3-Peat.

Who said that ever?

1st three peat Bulls weren't super talented compared to the competition. Jordan had to do all-time heavy lifting.

But the late 90's three peat Bulls were talented, and on equal footing with the competition. It eased mid 30's Jordan's burden.

Even though injuries riddled their core surrounding Mike for much of those last 2 seasons. Hell, Pippen missed half the season '98.

Kukoc was a very skilled, soft euro. Yes. And he was about as streaky as they come, dude. This might be one of his best games ever.

Toni was even more inconsistent on a game to game basis than Lamar Odom was for the 2006 - 2011 Lakers. Think about that for a second ...

do you feel kukoc gets underrated? he is in fact, one of the goat SKILLED european players of all time. was also instrumental in helping create space (spreading the floor) for those second 3 peat chicago teams.

you watch some of these clips and get nostalgic, for real. i think the second 3 peat bulls kick the first 3 peats ass.

- GOAT rebounder
- older, but wiser jordan
- pippen in his prime
- kukoc one of the GOAT euros
- kerr GOAT 3pt shooter

You.

This was about Kukoc and you had to turn it into a Jordan is GOAT thing.

MJ IS THE GOAT.

Stop being so damn insecure.

I didn't say MJ didn't have help ... I commented on the game. I attended the damn thing.

And yes MJ is the GOAT. I was stating the obvious. What is wrong with that? The displeasure of getting already difficult tickets to procure during the Jordan era, and even more difficult / expensive to see the Bulls in the Finals, @ home, and not getting to see them win the championship was disappointing. I was commenting on everything as a whole.

Don't be so insecure, and butt hurt. Afterall, you shouldn't mind hearing about MJ. He's your favorite player's favorite player. His "muse" afterall, right? Don't leave a salt trail all over your key board.

:facepalm

Lol @ Kukoc being overrated here, he had some skill, but he was a 13 ppg player who provided crappy defense, in fact his numbers were crap in the 3-peat postseason runs.

Kukoc in the '96-'98 postseasons...

55 Games | 27 MPG | 11 PPG | 3.5 RPG | 3 APG | 42.5 FG% | 30 3P%

So averaging 11, 3, and 3 is laughable on a 3 time defending championship team?

how did you afford the tickets? didn't you say you were dirt poor in another thread? anyway, must have been fun. i am completely envious as those bulls and jazz finals (both years) were well played and extremely competitive (jazz were one of the only LEGIT finals opponents the bulls faced in the 90s).

When you have the OP saying "one of the greatest combo scoring/shooters of all time", then you are overrating him.

Um ... no, I've never said that ever. On Christmas a few days ago v.s. the Lakers I sat on the floor.

They were all pretty legit apart from Magic's Lakers. I actually believe the '91 Pistons were better.

Drexler's Blazers were talented but underachievers.

Including ECF opponents:

'93 Knicks, '93 Suns, '96 Magic, '96 Sonics, '97 Heat, '97 Jazz, and '98 Jazz all won 60+ games. Some great competition. Bulls just curb stomped most of them. Even when they had less talent all around.

I watched Kukoc and I remember the general consensus was that he was a good role player.

I'm not going to say he's overrated now because no one hardly talks about him, but he's definitely overrated by OP.

He was a Lamar Odom type player. Nice glue guy who was a solid contributor but you could NOT count on him for any type of offense. He didn't make a lot of mistakes, but he played NO defense.

Never even made an all star team, iirc.
