Kobe is clearly no longer a top 10 player, although I do find it amusing that his fans keep bringing up his age as an excuse.
Before the season started every single one of them was claiming that Kobe was still better than Harden and Wade, but now that he is playing like shit they expect us to not criticize him because he's "old and injured"
We are only judging Kobe by the standard his fans set for him prior to the season, when they all claimed he was still the league's best shooting guard.

This.

Kobe isn't top 10 this year or even close, as he's shooting 37%, but this is NOT prime Kobe. However, PRIME LeBron this year is barely in the top 10, and could justifiably be placed outside of the top 10 because of performances like the one against Detroit and opening night (against the KNICKS). The chances of LeBron winning a ring this year don't look too good so far this year as I could see Chicago, Toronto, Washington, and Atlanta beating the Cavs in 6 games or less if the playoffs started today.

no kobe is not a top 10 player currently still top 10 all time but currently no. Theres too many guys in the league right now who are just getting better. guys like westbrook harden butler curry griffin the list goes on.

although i dont like to blame supporting cast (thats a lebron stan thing) you have to admit that the lakers are just a can full of scrubs. I cant remember off the top of my head but has any player in the laker team won any award at all??

Anybody remember that article that got written about Nick Young being the worst player in the NBA? It was written a few years ago when he was with the Sixers, I think. Can't find it anywhere tho..

It sucks, but Kobe is done. He needs to decide if he wants to retire or come off the bench.

One player pulled it together and lead the team to a 28-5 record.

Then he got injured and we saw what the other 4 could do on their own.

all of them had to endure major injuries that season

Kobe - sprained ankle, ruptured achilles
Dwight - back surgery, shoulder injury
Pau - plantar fasciitis, knee surgery
Nash - broken leg, nerve damage in his back
MWP - torn meniscus

Nash missed 32 regular season games, went down the 2nd game of the season with a broken leg..
Pau missed 33 regular season games and played hurt in a lot of them
Steve Blake, the back-up PG, missed 37 games and in a lot of those, Nash was injured as well, Morris (D-league player) and Chris Duhon (d-league player) started a handful of games for us, took the coach a month before he adjusted and put Kobe as starting point up to when he tore his achilles..

It's a miracle they won 45 games and made the Playoffs considering all the injuries to key players and lack of bench production, then you look at the wins and realize how much Kobe and Dwight had to carry the roster just to stay alive in the Playoff picture...truly amazing how much effort they put in considering how much shit was going on during the season... Sadly, it will go underappreciated because of all the haters that talk shit about Kobe and Dwight. The hate was to be expected considering the roster, but it's sickening how these trolls STILL make up bullshit about the season like the whole team was ready to go and Kobe let them down :facepalm :facepalm

excuses from your typical Kobe stan............

It's a miracle they won 45 games

Pointing out Kobe's injury is pointless. He played 78 out of 82 games that season and you are using it as part of the excuse of why they only won 45 games. Dwight, likewise, played 76 games. Yes they had injuries, but their top 2 players played almost the entire season and Laker fans like to act like they didn't.

excuses from your typical Kobe stan............
Are you saying he made those injuries up?

Plus he didn't even mention that Jordan Hill (only real big off the bench) went down for the whole season. The Lakers were starting third string/end of bench players at Center or PF and Point Guard for much of the season due to Dwight/Pau/Hill and Blake/Nash being out.

Jesus christ.

I think injuries in general are why we only won 45 games. Each of our main guys aside from Kobe were out a stint of the season when we really needed them. Then once everyone else was somewhat healthy, Kobe went down. Bad luck situation all around.

After the injuries comes the chemistry , our main line up never developed an ounce of it. Nash couldn't do what he used to anymore, especially post injury , and at that point Steve Blake was the better option to start, but don't tell D'antoni that. Blake likewise was still working himself back from a groin injury so you had Kobe taking a bulk of the playmaking AND the main scoring load, because as any person who actually watched every single one of those games can tell you, Dwight was still not in condition to be a first option...Yet.

People love to act like the Laker fans are some irrational crowd who just exaggerate anything from success to what hindered us from it. When in reality you all over-exaggerate everything that pertains to our organization and fanbase.

I don't know if it's envy , salt or just pure trolling, but whatever happened that season isn't as cut and dry you all make it seem.

Our biggest mistake was bringing in Mike D'antoni to Coach a Phil Jackson tailored roster.
