View Full Version : Did any great players (allstars or better) have small hands?

Obviously many great players had giant mitts. Are there any players, selected to at least one all star game, who had small hands? The average male hand length is 7.4" (per google), and you'd expect NBA players to have generally larger hands, so for the purposes of this discussion we can say "small hands" are 8" and smaller.

Any guys fit this bill?

Kevin Willis comes to mind. Though maybe it was just his arms that were small.

Ewing had small hands. Turned the ball over countless times towards the end of his NY run.

Looking at DE's database, looks like ~15% are 8 or smaller of the list. And a lot of those players aren't in the NBA. Think I recognize maybe 8 of them on an NBA roster off the top of my head.

Kyrie and Wall at 8.25, btw. CoJo's hands are ****ing huge. That's longer than Wilt's. (http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/showthread.php?t=261350) Spurs always drafting them big **** fellows. That can't be right. 10.25 is longer than Giannis, I think. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/11/kawhi-leonard-hands-photo-_n_5135263.html)

So... no one with <8" hands is good? :confusedshrug:

(since they started taking measurements at least)

One of my favorite role players Sam Cassell had smaller hands. He was great to watch with clever plays, nice finishes and a great work ethic. But his hands were tiny, like an artists.
