View Full Version : Why has LeBron James never had a decent coach in his NBA career?

Erik Spo - Terrible
David Blatt - Disastrous
When can LBJ get a coach like Carlisle or Popovich? He has NEVER had enough coaching or talent around him to win consistently with the Cavs.

When he learns to play without the ball.

This is true, although he is a nightmare to deal with.
The bump on Spo; I think first year, is something you just don't do. No matter how much you disagree with the coach or whatever. The coach is the main guy, the one you listen to, etc.
I'd love to see Bron get coached by Pop or Phil, or even Riley. You'd see his ass on the bench in crucial situations if he doesn't go along with the play with those coaches, since they don't give a damn who you are if you don't listen.

It is hilarious how the criticism on Bron after winning championships now has come down to intangible things, or things that can't necessarily be measured, or measured well.
First it was the post game... Then we saw him dominate from the post in a finals series, and become the most effective player in terms of sealing his man down low in the league.
Then it was midrange and shooting. 3 point percentage skyrocketed, and basketball stats showed us he was in fact one of the best in the league from the midrange.
He clearly is a very good off the ball player. His spot up shooting numbers; among the best in the league, and his post play and ability to seal his man in the post prove that.

You're crazy if you think Riley didn't have a lot of influence on what was going on in Miami...Spo's his handpicked and developed protege.

LeBron is a cancer who would bail if forced to play for a true alpha coach like Phil. The guy can't even handle David Blatt's alphaness, LMAO

Well I'm sure he will fit in great with Kyrie then.

It's truly unfair that Lebron is the only all time great who has been forced to spend his entire career playing for garbage coaches. Guys like Kobe would never come close to winning a ring with a coach like Spo.

:biggums: Not according to Spo. He always said Lebron was the perfect teammate who always played the game the right way. Spolestra knows that the only reason he still has a coaching gig in the NBA is cause of Bron. Based on the way things are going without Lebron I would honestly be shocked if he is still Miami's coach next year.

LMAO, yeah his 'post-moves' which consist of throwing the defender to the ground and using literally no footwork, are so amazing, that he shot to the tune of 30% in the Finals

Smh
Now we blaming the coach?
Lebron hasnt looked like a 4 time mvp or 2 time nba champion NONE this season. Wade has looked and played better than lebron so far this season....and dont bring up stats just use your eyes.
You cant tell me lebron doesnt look slower or lethargic....this is around the time of year lebron goes into all out beast mode as far as conditioning and athleticism is concerned. This year..he is riding the bench with "knee soreness"...now if its torn cartilage or something please forgive me but if its just a sore knee like majority of us COMMON people get by just walking up a flight of stairs...thats pretty lame.
Im starting to think he is just declining..look at dwight howard...dude hasnt had a poster dunk in ages...cant even get his forehead at rim level anymore. REST IN PEACE MY FALLEN SUPERSTARS.

Spo is more than decent. He has 2 rings. Now he just gotta find someone like Shaq to ride to another 3 rings and he can 5 have rings. Just like Kobe.
I like how ring count simplifies everything around here. It proves your greatness.
Got a problem with Spo? 2 rings bitch.

Spo is a good coach. And that Heat team had rim protection after they acquired Birdman. and LBJ and Wade were both elite defenders.

Mike Brown is a poor coach. Spoelstra and Blatt are good coaches.

Ray Allen scored 0 points in Game 7 of the Finals, and has literally nothing to do with the thread
No luck, there is 30 teams and only 2-3 really really great coaches like that....

It's funny how Spolestra is considered a 'terrible' coach now, but when the Heat went back to back I recall the consensus singing his praises. Not to suggest that he's the reincarnation of Pat or anything but calling him terrible seems a bit harsh.

We're talking about real coaches. Championship coaches. Kobe wasn't the only one complaining about those 2. Why would you want a coach like Mike Brown who let's his assistants do the planning and D'Antoni who doesn't coach and call out plays and who's only famous words to his players are "C'mon! Let's go let's go let's go!" That's coaching? lol
