Yay or Nay?

Replace Hakeem with Lebron, and possibly Moses.

And then where do you rank Dr. J if you include his ABA years?

I don't think top 10 is a good number, because clearly 12 players sticks out from the rest of the pack.

1. MJ
2. Russell
3. Wilt
4. Kareem
5. Magic
6. Bird
7. Kobe
8. Duncan
9. Shaq
10 Hakeem
11. Lebron
12. Oscar

For the record, Lebron only isn't ranked there because he can still do more. He could be ranked anywhere from 9 through 5 when it's all said and done.

So yea , those of you who already have him at 10 or higher , be my guest.

Dr. J is Top 15 , 11 if you count AB years imo.

Top ten's getting too crowded. top 15 should be the new meta for discussion soon.

I have Lebron 7 right now, i think maybe one spot too high.

I agree. It'd really let the list breathe. Guys like West, Moses, Dirk and KG wont feel so removed from the discussions.

I think anyone can make a case they're somewhere around that range.

The only change to be made in your top ten list, and it was also brought up by another poster, is the addition of Lebron James and the removal of Hakeem. It isn't a knock on Hakeem, he used to be in my top ten, too, but Lebron has now surpassed him with four MVP's and five final appearances with two titles.

Hakeem is now 11th on my all-time list.

Regarding Oscar Robertson and his averaging a triple double in the early 60's, it was a different era and he couldn't duplicate that today. I am not trying to diminish him or his accomplishments, because he is an all-time great, obviously.

But the pace of the NBA back then was almost 20% faster than today and he played almost 45 minutes per game. Player's today don't have the luxury of that type of frantic pace to give them the necessary possessions, nor would they be allowed to play that number of minutes.

Oscar's in my top fifteen though.

KG shouldn't be in top 15 discussions anyways.

- atleast 2 titles as a lead dog

then whoever has the best resumes after that prerequisite

Pretty simple

Only reason lebron isnt over hakeem is cause of that lockout ring. Kinda messed with his totals since itel never compare to hakeems 2 full ships

The top 10 all time hasnt changed in a long time

-kareem
-jordan
-russell
-wilt
-kobe
-duncan
-magic
-bird
-shaq
-hakeem

LeBron is getting demoted for a lockout ring? Kinda unfair.

It is interesting that LeBron gets penalized for winning a championship in a shortened season, but it doesn't bother you that Hakeem won his two championships when Michael Jordan was playing baseball.

And yes, I know Michael Jordan came back at the end of the 1995 season.

Also the fact that absolute top tier players like lebron, kobe, hakeem etc are now often themselves bumped from the top ten varying from list to list. When multiple championship - mvp - fmvp guys aren't being discussed it's a bit of a shame.

Of course not In that order that u have but As of rite now , I can see those names being in the top 10.Bron's chips in Wade county still has a fake feel to them by him joining 2 others in their prime on Wade's team.If and only if he can win maybe 1 more with this bunch he has and not having say a Durant join him or any other top 5 guy then I could see him maybe leap frogging Dream but would still be hard to do.

My list is exactly that, with Hakeem now @ 11 and Oscar @ 12

Could be any order for the most part, but I just can't put Kobe over Hakeem when I think Hakeem was the better player...

Kobe vs. Lebron all time is the debate for me.

I think Kobe still deserves that spot. I go back and forth on this though...tough
