Had never seen that clip of Abdul-Jabbar. Gives me the chills just by watching.
Pretty epic.

no video no proof
Kobe's game is the highest scoring game available on video in NBA history PLUS it was done in the modern era PLUS it's the highest scoring game by any perimeter player PLUS it was in a comeback effort and you don't see the reports about his teammates telling how they were feeding him the ball on purpose to chase the record. He scored 40 in the last 18 minutes of the game.

Kobe scoring 81 points is the only basketball moment that is burned in to my memory. I remember where I was, what I was doing, what I did, etc... And I was not even watching the game!
I'm not that old, though, and that's only the most memorable to me. Not necessarily the greatest moment ever.

He's a freak athlete Center, only the other freaks Shaq and Lebron are comparable as physical specimen, playing against a bunch of 6-9 white boys. Kobe's game is way more impressive by comparison. Modern Era as well.

Nah, the refs stole the game for the bulls. Didn't count an eisley 3 that should have counted (was halfway between the basket and eisley when the shot clock went off) and then they counted a Ron Harper 2 shot well after the shot clock went off. Then of course Jordan pushed off in that final sequence. F'ing bs is what this game was.
