View Full Version : How long does a hot streak last before it's an actual consistent thing?

An example...

Hawks are 19-2 since Nov 28th, but every one just says they are hot.

How long till people stop calling them hot and recognize that it's on a consistent basis?

You never know till it ends and you see how it goes after a rough patch.

The Rockets won 22 in a row a few years ago...and I think Yao Ming missed a bunch of those games...and Tmac wasnt 100% either. But they kept winning.

I remember a few times the Bulls would close really strong in those years between Jordan and Rose....but it wouldnt be for real.

A few teams a year have a great run....

As I said...you dont know if its real till it ends...and they have a chance to start it back up.

A team is great when them going on a great streak isnt something to call attention to or really...consider news worthy.

When it isnt eyebrow raising or a "Did you guys notice...." to see the Hawks win 8-9 straight...thats when its real.

Let us see how it goes.

Which one of you hawks fans is the Clippersfan86 of your group of four? It's hard to tell.

This has really nothing to do with the Hawks, I was just using them as an example because their the only team that's 19-2 and considered just hot.

Well...they are 19-2 because you pulled an arbitrary date out to start counting. The Blazers even with that loss to Atlanta have a better record in a better conference and I hear next to nothing about them. People arent making topics on the Blazers being for real.

The Blazers are on pace to win 63 games in the west and nobody gives a shit.

It isnt a Hawks thing...its an unproven thing.

Teams gain respect by winning several playoff series.

Only way its ever been done.

It literally...takes years.

Years of winning and proving yourself a consistent threat.

Toronto is in the same boat.

Teams not historically taken serious dont get there in a couple months. Hell its hard to do it in a couple years if you dont do playoff damage.

When they put up good records for a few seasons and reach the 2nd round most years or even the ECF during their core's stay.

Look at the Clippers, they made the playoffs few years in a row, after being the league's laughing stock for their whole existence - they still get questioned alot.

How predictable of team trolling was this thread? Seriously. Hawks are good. We all know it. We don't need a post about it every ****ing day.
