A career loser who refused to let GP shut down MJ and cost Seattle not only a title but a damn franchise. Nah, that cancer can stay away from Denver.

its just a BS rumor

karl would get his old job back before we hire MDA

would make the last two seasons pointless

but we are not moving in that direction

Not sure if anyone's left but they got a lot of his players in the Melo trade. He could be good for Ty Lawson's statistics. And nothing else.

I was a Sonics fan and like it or not no one was shutting down MJ. I have no problem with how Karl coached the Sonics. He was an excellent coach.

being insane is doing the same thing over and over, while expecting an different result

karl got outcoached every year in the playoffs. sure he won COY, but also lost in the 1st round as a 3rd seed, being outcoached by mark fvcking jackson

To be honest, D'Antoni isn't that bad of a coach as far as offense goes, he could probably do wonders with that Nuggets roster on O. They would need an elite defensive coach to pair with him though.

Na, it was their defense that lost them the series in 2013... What can he do about defending Curry, who went HAM in that series on Lawson? Denver lost 3 games in that series that could have gone either way, there's nothing he could do about stopping Curry and Jarrett Jack, who combined for 43/10/16 a game on near 50% shooting.

The defensive coach only matters if D'Antoni lets that coach influence his depth chart and substitutions. It's not like D'Antoni doesn't understand defense, of that was the case he wouldn't be able to design offenses that can score inn the opposing d. The problem is that defense is not his priority.

Utah FO should do some serious communication with its coaching staff to bring in Shaw if this does happen.

I think if he becomes available, Lakers or Kings are gonna grab him.

yes it was the defense. it was the defense every year

karl is clueless on that end, and thats why he had to go

Karl probably always disliked the added physicality during the playoffs.

Which is very different than ncaa basketball.

And I also wonder how many fans on this board would be okay keeping their coach if they lost the first round eight straight times?

D'Antoni is the perfect coach for an underachieving team with a decent amount of talent.

He gets guys to produce.

Depends on the roster.

A roster good enough to make the playoffs 8 straight years.

Was the roster really good enough or was Karl dragging as much as he could out of them? :confusedshrug:

Failed in The playoffs year after year.
Pretty sure that in his first round exits he only lost to a team with a worse record once and that was Golden State.

And four of their seven first round losses came at the hands of the Lakers or Spurs.

Also, who can win with Melo?

I'll bring it up again. Which fan base would be ok with a coach who loses in the playoffs over and over and over?

I'm not sure but did the team lose or did the coach? I'm pretty sure they both lost. I'm not saying to bring back Karl. What I am saying is that the grass isn't always greener. I would be more concerned with the FOs inability to field a team that could win. Look at them now. Shaw? No, he's not a good head coach. McGee's contract? Their roster isn't any good. Again, it's not just Karl, it's usually a combination of things. Trying to win with Melo and building a team around him was a huge mistake. Giving McGee any kind of contract is a huge mistake. That's all I'm saying. The grass isn't always greener.

A smaller market team.

The GM has its job to do. And unless people become highly scrutnize over personnel roles and salary. The coach isnt able to do much.

I'll say this though.

teams/franchises who rely heavily upon their local tickets holders over those tv viewing fans. (Think the actual city in which the arena is located in comparison to fans who live within the states, yet are unablw to attend games regularly)

May over pay own drafted players or free agents.

I do think that letting karl go was moving towards the right direction.

But I also wouldnt be surprised of the fans/owner being content of all those years making it into the playoff.

If anything, it made melos departure a lot less painful.

Still would like to know which teams this refers to? Which fan bases of small
Market teams would be ok keeping the coach (whether it's his fault or not) if they lose in the playoffs every year?
