Per Noel's yahoo fantasy sports page. How does this affect his pairing with Embid, if at all?

Meh. They'll play together in the front court, but they most likely will share a free-flowing orientation with Embiid occupying the high post and Noel the low/baseline area on offense. On defense they'll take it game by game and work out the assignments so they're in the most effective matchups possible. The actual defined position each one plays is less important than tradition suggests

Noel isn't good enough to keep Embiid out the low post. It will loook something like Embiid on the low post and Noel screening people. If that doesnt work then Noel will be on the bench and on the trading block.

Maybe the Sixers are not encouraged by Embiid's lack of progression. Greg Oden 2.0

They'll trade Noel. Easy call here. Embiid is the future

Centre's take long to develop. He'll be fine.

Noel can play PF. Not sure why people think he can't. Embiid/Noel is no issue

How is Noel coming along anyway? How good can he get in three years? How much of a low post threat is he? I feel like he should be pulling down more rebounds considering his WS and standing reach.

Yeah, Embiid working out of the low post and Noel being a screener/cutter can definitely work. Especially becuase Embiid is such a talented passer. I don't think there will be a huge issue trying to get the two to work together on offense.

I think the position labeling is basically irrelevant anyway. Noel will guard quicker 4s whether they want to call him a center or not.

Low post game doesn't exist. He has a better chance of facing up a guy and making quick move to the tim for a runner or hook shot than his back to basket. As far as rebounds it's a combination of being light in the ass and his hands not being all that great. He can improve this just with time. But low post scoring? Forget about it. Better off hoping he can knock down a jumper than that.

He's doing pretty much what I expected

Does he have enough beef to defend centers? Seems like he could be overpowered fairly easily.

Embiid/Noel can work. Embiid should develop into an offensive force. Noel's strength will be defense.

My guess is that Noel is a 4 on D and a cutting/screening 5 on offense. Embiid is a 5 on D and gets used like Duncan on offense. They can each be a combo of PF/C depending on match-ups.

Noel's strengths will be weak side shot blocking and hopefully rebounding. He's so wiry that just about anyone can post him up and toss him around like a rag doll. He's really really fast though so that helps. Its hard to imagine him developing into a good man defender.

No way the Sixers plan to keep both. They will develop them both and trade one to create a balanced roster.

Yeah, worst case they don't fit together and they have to trade one for a good wing.

It's also possible that they keep Noel and Use him as a backup big. It's quite possible they keep both. And it's quite possible they start both. It's also possible they trade either of them. You just can never tell with Hinkie.

Thanks, so he is basically trade bait?

No, why would he be trade bait? Teams don't need 12 superstars, they need 12 players who know their roles. After this draft and if Embiid gets healthy, they'll see what they have. After that they will assess and make necessary moves. They could make a move before then but Noel is no more trade bait than anyone else on the roster.
