It seems like people in the West find human like robots creepy, why? I think robots are cool even the bipedal human like ones. They can very useful.

The Uncanny Valley theory posits that the closer movement gets to being natural, without being completely natural, the mind can't read it correctly, and it causes a sense of revoltion. It's claims it's the backbone for our fear of zombies, robots, aliens, and all the other humanoid things we seem to have a natural fear of. One of the things I find creepiest is when old people move at an unusually quick pace, like Zelda from Pet Cemetary.
I found that wireless cable commercial with the life size marionette stripping to be totally freaky this past fall for example.

Google just announced they they have achieved quantum computing, now Boston Dynamics has a robot that can do gymnastics. How much longer before we have Skynet and Terminators?

Who needs regular Olympics when you can compete robot vs robot. The better creator of the robot wins. That's the kind of pu55y shit this world is heading towards.

Well when you think of all the different games and competitions virtual reality and robots will allow us to create and experience, man vs man competitions will seem antiquated and even barbaric, kind of like how modern society views gladiators.

Because modern society is more pu55ified than what it once was.
As we know, back then gladiators fought to kill each other for other people's entertainment. Just because something is more sensible (how we don't have competitions where people don't kill each other) doesn't mean that it's more pu55ified, because that's exactly what it is.
Do we allow NBA players to foul others as hard as we used to? No, because risking more injury is less sensible, while at the same time more pu55ified.

Regular robots aren't really creepy, but the humanoid ones (aka sex robots and the like) do kinda freak me out

Those gladiators you talk about would call our generation ******* too and spit on us.
Even people from a few decades ago would.
And you complain about other people:roll:

Like Akrazzy's post in freedom blades thread, I can deal with most of the companies and their ulterior/political motives, but companies like GOOGLE, APPLE, AMAZON are literally aiming for world domination. That's where I draw the line.
I don't believe Google has achieved quantum computing haha. At least not in a meaningful way.
