Best Splinter Cell game in the series

The only one I have ever played was the first one for ps2. I am thinking about buying one, so i need some feedback on which one is the best one based on game play, mechanics, and replay-ability.

Blacklist is my favorite. Good mix of stealth and action. Conviction was a little too action oriented but still fun.
