Still had the assists, stil had the rebounds.

His new way is still working if he keeps this up. Just had one of those games that Charles Barkley descibes. Will happen 1 out of 15 games when you play for 20 years with 2 major injuries.

As die-hard of a Kobe stan as I am, even I can admit that there are no excuses for Kobe's performance here. 12 shots is simply unacceptable. If he had a more typical 12-45 game, this would have been a lot closer. Time to hit the gym, Black Mamba. Don't leave until you've fired up 5000 shots or made 1000, whichever comes first.

This isn't exactly surprising. I have never been a Kobe fan but I respect him. He's mentally as tough as anyone and has been great to watch over the years, but lets be real; name one NBA player that has come back from an achilles injury....

I've said it over and over, he's only going to tarnish his legacy and he should have retired when it happened. Dude is averaging 37.5% fg and 29% 3pfg.

It's a shame that Kobe's career had to come to such an abrupt end because of injuries.

He was still sooooo good in 2013, was putting up 27/5/5 on good efficiency and had some really nice dunks that year too. He was the freshest he looked since 2010, imo.

Then the Achilles, then the knee, and now this is what we're left with. :/

He was literally 10x better in 2013 before the Achilles than he is now. It's so sad watching him now. He can't get past anyone, legitimately gets hidden on defense now, and just can't seem to make the same shots he's made for seemingly his entire career when he's able to get them off.

Honestly, I'm confident that he would've ended up as the all-time leading scorer if he didn't tear his Achilles. The decline would've been much more gradual and what we're seeing now would most likely be what a 38 year old/no injury Bryant would've looked like.

He had a bad game where the entire team sucked ass.

He can't will a team to victory like in the past. But he can be a top contributor to a pretty good team. He still racked up the boards and assists and he's been doing so for a decent little stretch. He had an off shooting night. Sometimes you can't control an off night of shooting. But you can go out and grab some rebounds or move the ball and I felt he did that.

Honestly it's not his lack of O that is the problem. It's his lack of D.

I know you're not saying all Kobe fans/stans should have jumped off and got on the bran bandwagon. You have to respect the Kobe contingent right now, staying loyal to a player that's a shell of himself, while it's primetime for the haters to crawl out of the woodwork and unleash the pent up fury that was built up during 2009 and 2010. And then there are posters like eric cartman who was a big stan, bigger than me, and then the moment Kobe gets washed up does a complete 180, trashing Kobe any chance he gets. Imho, those people are more laughable than the hardcore Kobe contingent, even if they come across as delusional once in awhile.

Velocirap31
01-08-2015, 10:04 AM
He's a horrible play maker. Stans get excited if he gets 6+ assists, but he can never do that without close to an equivalent number of turnovers. I don't see much of a difference between Kobe of 10 years ago, other than his shots aren't falling at a 10% higher clip.

Exactly.

These fagits will ditch Lebron the moment he can't pad his stats like he used to. :facepalm

And no they wont jump to the KD bandwagon, that'd be way too alpha, instead they'll attack Anthony Davis like a piece of fresh meat in a max security penitentiary.

Most of you laugh at Laker/Kobe fans like we're the joke , while we're still here riding it out with our Team and star player , while they're at their worst.

I love Kobe, but the guy wearing 24 for the lakers is not kobe, he's a ghost, a shell of his former self, can't root for him, I'll just have selective amnesia and remember the good ol days (insert sarah mclachlan music here).

The guy shoots 2-10, 1-14, 2-12 every other game.

As an objective basketball fan, I can't root for Kobe anymore, considering how many other great players there are in the league now, especially with him not playing the right way just caring about stats ball hogging like a motherfcker.

He's like an old family dog that has give you amazing memories, but is now old and frail can't even stand up anymore. That's not the animal that I worshiped, that stole my heart.
