View Full Version : I would be happy if not a single comic movie was ever made again

Seriously, I have zero interest in watching comic movies, why has Hollywood been stuck in the comic book mud the past decade. One in every 3 movies is some nerdy comic movie.

You didn't like the Dark Knight Rises?
Didn't see it, I did enjoy Dark Knight actually so that's actually one I might enjoy checking out if it was good. Most of the others, like the Avengers, Thor, Hulk etc, I personally have not really enjoyed. The first Iron Man was alright I forgot about that one. Hated all the spider man movies. Actually I think part of the problem is all the sequals/merger movies. There's so many movies using the same characters, it's like they're making saga's. That initial awe of any visual/audio of the characters disappears for me after seeing the first movie.

I just wanna see the Black Panther joint then I'm good. I wish it was coming out earlier than that. Instead of them making the same movies with the same characters.

How can someone not want to see more Marvel movies? It's cool to see the Avengers in a movie. Marvel isn't going to stop

These movies are an awesome spectacle. If you treat it as such you can enjoy it as such. It's like a fireworks show.

I'm not a comic guy either but the majority is with those who read them so Hollywood is gonna make them anyway, I just wish they did it well like the first two Batman movies by Nolan or Watchmen.

Nobody's making you watch them. There's thousands of movies I don't give a shit about so ill make a thread about them all.

It sucks that they keep coming out with these movies and forcing OP to pay to go see them.

That's not fair. They shouldn't force you to spend your $, time and energy on something you don't enjoy.

Christopher Nolan's Interstellar is the only film in the top 10 worldwide box office of 2014 to be wholly original--not a reboot, remake, sequel, or part of a franchise.

It's been ages since I've watched a superhero movie. When you think about it superheroes are really an extremely weird US thing, it's strange how the movies are such a succes globally when comic book culture is so confined to the US.

That said, what if I told you they have already made more movies and tv shows than you can watch in a lifetime? Watch something else.

[QUOTE]Hope you didn't make plans for the next six years, because Marvel, DC, Fox and Sony have your schedule all planned out.

In just six years

sorry http://mashable.com/2014/10/28/upcoming-superhero-movies-marvel-dc/
 headline should be "entire generation of children set to be brainwashed on cliche factory-churned superhero movies"

This is like how Westerns and Cowboy movies dominated 50's and 60's Hollywood... every other movie will look the same, and thus very boring to future generations.

In 60 years "oh grandpa you watching another one of your favorite old comic movies again" on some old fart station called "Marvel Classics". Seriously, it looks like so many will be made there will be a network dedicated just to the genre in the future.

It took 50 years for film to reach a point where you could do a visually impressive take on a comic book story. No surprise that when they got there studios took advantage of thousands of pre written stories about iconic characters followed by millions of people.

Technology reached a point they can animate the imagination....

Advantage is being taken.

The Winter Soldier completely revived my interest in these movies, especially Marvel ones. It was the best thing in the Marvel universe since the first Iron Man.

I don't think it's that weird. Mythology and sci fi have always been popular stories and comic books are just a mix of the two.

Yeah..it's like every comic that's come from Marvel and DC is making it to big screen. Same "save the world" concept too.

Superman, Batman, and Spiderman are enough for me.

Speak for yourself. I want to see a Deadpool movie for Marvel and a Flash movie for DC.

The story arcs differs. I would want to see different story arcs, and try not to make that many changes of the arcs. We haven't had that yet. Well, beside Watchmen and Scott Pilgrim. The ending change throughout those arcs.

For real tho...Aquaman could play a role similar to how Namor is in Marvel depending on which version you wann'a take, which is badass. Aquaman got a bad rep for being useless when he could be pretty decent.

More excited for Flash tho. Flash could be cool and creative.

It's good that the entirety of the movie industry is not based on what you want to watch. I would be happy if not a single horror movie was ever made again but I don't expect the genre to disappear. Instead of complaining about it, just don't see the movies.

Oh shit, I totally meant to say Dark Knight when I said Dark Knight Rises.

Dark Knight >>>>>>>> Rises. In fact DKR kinda proves your point.

I get what you're saying though. Iron Man 1 and Batman Begins and Dark Knight (not rises) are few of the only good superhero movies.
