No one takes more than 14 shots a game, that's huge. So they aren't counting on any one particular person for the bulk of their scoring every night. That's really important for sure.

Korver is also a shooting god in a predominantly 3 point shooting league now.

:applause:

to win an NBA championship in today's game, you must have one of the top offenses in the league - you can't win JUST with defense anymore like you could in previous eras.. too much spacing now and the mavs and spurs showed everyone how to optimally use that spacing.

that's why all the top teams are loaded up with great shooters, and it's why atlanta is up there with the good teams - because they have great shooting.

The secret is the system.

An egoless team that DOESN'T rely on hero ball and instead acts as a unit at BOTH ends. Players don't take breaks on defense and each player has made it their mission to hold their own against their match ups. Even Korver is a MUCH better defender this year and isn't hiding anymore.
The floor spacing also some of the BEST in the league. This makes up for them being undersized which is a testament to coach Buds coaching prowess.
He's definitely the leading candidate for coach of the year.

They have an above average center , an above average PF and a team that plays team concept ball.

* The league is shifting to this more than ever .... 70's , 80's used to have athletic players that basically show cased their prowls and had little if any team concept.

What are you talking about? The lakers celts sixers and Pistons all played team ball. If anything the majority of the league in recent times play exactly as you describe.

You can't be a great team in this league without an overly excitable bench guy. That's what has held us back for years, and we've finally found him in Baze.

It's no surprise that the Lakers have completely fallen to shit without him, Robert Sacre just doesn't quite have that 'it' factor like Baze does.

It's always confused me why teams don't give their 11-12 spots to high energy bench guys.

The Spurs, the Hawks, the Mavs, Warriors, Grizzlies, Blazers all have great chemistry, and they all have great bench guys. And it seems like certain teams have chemistry issues (Cavs, Rockets at times, Clippers, OKC even though people disagree), and they haven''t been entirely successful given the amount of talent they have.

I was kind of joking, but you might be onto something. Baze has definitely been a great addition to the end, (well more like late-middle) of the bench, great locker room guy and does a lot of fan stuff. I know he gets along really well with Jeff Teague especially.

Our locker room is a pretty low key group of guys so it's good to have a high energy type like Bazemore to keep things loose.
