I practically grew up in households with carpet, sometimes even the kitchen and bathroom :biggums:. Now it's almost intolerable to me and a gigantic waste of money.

Give me hardwood floors and tile w/area rugs any day of the week. Carpet is a pain is the ass, especially after the "newness" wears off. If you weigh the pro and cons of each, having no carpet far outweighs having it.

To the OP's question, no carpets, they are a haven for all kinds of filth and bacteria

Carpet is being phased out everywhere except the bedroom...but I will say this, carpet is really great if you have kids.

I have a two story home, was built in the 90s...the bottom floor is hard wood, the top floor is all carpet...it is SO much easier for kids to play on carpet.

Will not be removing any of the carpet in my home until my kid(s) are older.

Carpets suck. Area rugs for the win. More stylish and you can still show off some of the hardwood floor.

carpet by far, for every room besides the kitchen and bathroom...

so much more comfortable of an environment to live in.

I grew up in an anti-carpet house. Now I only have carpet in my basement and i wanna rip it the f*ck out, but my wife wants new carpet (she grew up in a pro-carpet environment).

Carpet is disgusting, especially if you have animals. Their fur gets embedded in it.

wtf carpet in the kitchen?

I like hardwood floors and tiling but with hardwood you have to worry about damaging it. Right now I have tiles in the main areas and carpet in the bedrooms and study which I don't mind. The one thing I hate about my carpet is it's a dark grey and my area has a lot of white tail spiders, when you spray them if they are out of reach they drop on the carpet and become impossible to find again. Normally spiders don't bother me but I hate those ones because they hide in clothes and linen.

Hate carpet. When I bought my house it was in excellent shape but it was dated with carpet. The first thing I had done was rip out all the carpet minus, one bedroom and the basement, and put in travertine.

We used to have carpet in our upstairs guest room. My wife was religious in keeping it clean (vacuuming once a week, regular professional steam cleaning, etc.) When we decided to replace it with a wood floor I ripped it up and it was dirty as hell underneath. Years of dirt, dust, dander, etc. Just nasty.

I am torn between the two. While hardwood floors look better, the carpet is much more comfortable and cleaner.

My socks get dirty as hell and ruined when ever I go to a house with hardwood floors because people don't clean their floors. In a carpet home, your socks don't get dirty and it is easier to clean. You just run a vacum cleaner over it and it picks up the dust. With the hardwood you have to go over it with a sweeper.

As long as the carpets match the drapes, I'm good.

grew up with carpet floors and animals. its a disgusting combination. loving that my last two places had no carpet, accept for the bedroom. its annoying that the stairs are carpeted. awkward to vacuum . they're dirty.

What kinda carpet are we talking about here? Either way I don't like it all over the place, whether it is covering ***** or the floor. I'm cool with a bit north of the ***** and a piece of Persian carpet in the living room.

Why do yoy take your shoes off in aa strangers home? If you did that in my home I would kick you out.

I prefer a rug to a full on carpet. Wait what are we talking about?

I love carpets in bathrooms. They're the best thing to put your foot on when you get out of the shower.

It doesn't need to cover everything, but I do like at least some carpet. Looks classy if you ask me. When I see no carpet I'm thinking: "What's the matter? Can't keep a carpet clean and maintained?".

get heated floors bruh

It's not only the tempreature, it's also the feeling.
And a marble floor is slippery even if you heat it (and can you heat a marble floor? I guess you can but I have no idea)

I like carpets but only in the bedroom and living room area. Bathrooms, kitchen, eating area, and hall ways have to be tile. It's easier to clean tile and I don't like shoes on the carpet.

I like to alternate between a shag carpet and a bare floor. Sometimes a small rug is nice. The back door should have no carpet at all, a welcome mat in the front is ok though.
