Checking out the Hawks broadcast. I get that Mike Glenn's nickname is The Stinger, but the host's use was kind of funny. Something along the lines of "I'm here with Mike Glenn, the Stinger, breaking down tonight's game. And the Stinger, what do the Hawks need to do tonight?"

milsap reminds me of a super-prime, more experienced bran. if bran was forced/taught to play the pf position his entire career, he'd play something like milsap. great with his back to the basket, can draw fouls, excellent touch, can pick any big's pocket, good rebounder, and a very good passer, and a very underrated shot blocker.

people are talking about teague and rightfully so, but when teague was out milsap was still doing his thing. he's great at keeping horford involved and the rest of the team too.

I think I've had more fun breaking down the Hawks commentary tonight than the game itself. My favorite 'Nique line of the night came when the Pistons trailed by 17 with 4 minutes left in the first half. "I wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks lead by 20." (Hawks hit a three during same offensive possession). "What'd I say?"

I imagine that's why they have won so many games because his chucking has been going in.Nah, that was a desperation strategy on Detroit's part this evening. When the deficit grew as large as it did, it became a "first shot available" situation. Tonight was not exactly an accurate indicator of how things have flowed for this squad of late. The Hawks forced the Pistons into a weird situation tonight.

Sidenote, I appreciate the Hawks announcers getting excited for Pistons plays too, but they're going to blow their mics out if they keep yelling like they were at a few of those moments, ha.

I'm hearing Andre Drummond was working through the flu tonight. Not sure what effect that had on the game, but it sort of explains his limited playing time and unusually unaggressive nature.

I believe his 4 points and 5 rebounds in 17 minutes are by far his worst numbers of the year.

He needs to get better on the offensive end.I remain very skeptical of Drummond's offensive game. I've been in the "just doesn't have it" camp for most of the past two years in that regard. However, there have been just enough sporadic rays of life in his post game to make me wonder if development may still be possible.

But then I watch him miss a jump hook like he did early tonight and my beliefs are once again reaffirmed (those types of misses are regular occurrences). More times than not he just flat out lacks the wherewithal of what do with himself when he's got his back to the basket.

The Hawks are built around stretching the floor so that the PG's (Teague, Dennis) can have room to attack the paint and ball movement that will result in open shots. That's different than just jacking up 3pt shots right and left because the rest of your game has gone to shit.

A player like Pope shouldn't take 16 3's in a game.

I did not get to see one second of this game, but I'm glad we won. I saw the score early and thought we would win easy, but a win is a win.

Drummond played 17 minutes, horrible games from Jennings, Meeks, and Augustin, and a 20 point deficit to the number 1 team on most Power Rankings this week, and we end up only losing by three.

It's sad the streak is over, but this team is radically different than just 1 month ago.

It's actually fun to be a Piston fan again.

Pistons keep this unlikely and unexpected level up, they are a lock to finish at least as the 7th seed. They are more than four games better than the Nets, Heat and Pacers the rest of the way.

It goes to show that 16-20 point leads are nothing. It was a blow out and Detroit starts throwing up three's and the Hawks decide to go to Horford down low for some reason. Plus like 5 missed free throws. A four minute stretch took the game from a blow out to a really close game.
