What would the dynamic be if Lebron/Durant played with a decent pass first point guard. Kyrie is a 2 guard masquerading as a point guard, i've never seen a player shoot a contested mid range jumper so early in the shot clock as Westbrook and Kyrie do so often. They make a decent share of them but it isn't a winning basketball play, a point guard should always attempt to maximize the best available shot you can take.

Plus some awesome stats on LBJ's impact:

Cleveland is scoring 7.8 more points per 100 possessions with James in the game and giving up 4.1 more when he rests, via 82games.com. His assist average is the second-highest of his 12-year career.

K Love and Lebron:

Love has the third best net rating on the Cavs this season, with his team 2.7 points per 100 possessions better with him on the floor. But nearly all of that success comes with LeBron James out there with him. With James on the court with Love, the Cavs are a plus-4.6 points per 100 possessions this season. Without James on the court and Love out there, the Cavs are a minus-3.6 points per 100. Love shoots better (plus 2.4 percent from the field and 3.7 percent from 3-point range) with James out of the game and his scoring per 36 minutes goes up 3.5 points.

Lebron can play point guard and Durant averages like 30 a game on great percentages.

Nothing.

Now if they played with good coaches? That's a question.

durant makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts while bran nothing. He makes his pg useless. Bran wants to be the system instead of being part of it. Thats why he needs superstacked teams to win. He doesnt play winning basketball.

Durant's team ranks dead last in assists, and Lebron's team without him would rank dead last in assists and have lost 7 of the last 8. Lebron isn't the ball stopper you think he is. See the stat I posted on Lebron's impact in the OP.

Bron can't function with a PG like that because he has to dominate and control the offense or he starts to sulk a la 2011 finals.

if it doesn't end in a championship, then once again, lebron will have failed to play a successful brand of basketball, despite having the necessary talent every year this decade.

btw, it's kind of hard for kyrie to play like a point guard, when his SF (lebron) dominates the ball (http://stats.nba.com/tracking/#!/player/possessions/?sort=TOP&dir=1) more than he does...

lebron is a better pg than pretty much anyone. so that wont work. not saying he cant maket it work, but Bron needs control

KD idk it depends on who else is with that pass 1st pg. because right now KD need Russ to be Russ.

one thing that bothers me about the Russ KD dynamic. How many shots do people want KD to shoot? Its like fans/media dont watch okc. Russ aint taking nothing from KD. KD kno wats up.

an effective pass first PG needs to dominate the ball

Lebron wouldn't benefit at all. Durant would.

Does Lebron even know what to do when he doesn't have the ball in his hands all the time?
