View Full Version : Can we all agree if DMC had a better attitude he'd be the best player in the world?

Next to Anthony Davis and LeElbow.

His attitude is fine, people just get spooked by competiveness

I can't agree with that.
And LeElbow?

I've wanted him on the Lakers for some time now, I like his attitude. I think he spends most of his career on the Kings though.

Not even close. At best he's in the 6-10 range of NBA centers in 2014-2015

You can be an angry player without being a pouty one. He has some of the worst body language I've seen in a while.

If he played defense every game like he did 2night than yeah he would be really good.
His defensive effort varies way to much.

He wears his emotions on his sleeve in a bad way imo. Maybe he'll mature at a quick, steady rate but you can't exactly count on it just because he's aging. Emotion isn't bad but need to be able to control it and be a solid leader.

Gasol
Howard
I'd take them without hesitation over Cousins. Anthony Davis too if you consider him a Center.
Then:
Horford
Noah
Al Jefferson
So there you go. He's at best #4.
He gets overrated much like Rasheed Wallace because he's a hothead who can't keep his emotions in check. I'm sure he's a good dude and wants to him but he will likely always have mental issues throughout his career.

DMC has all the tools he just plays in a team that beside himself doesn't have a lot of hungry players. It's OK to lose in Sac and it's been this way for a few years. In contrast to what OP is suggesting I believe the team would benefit hugely if other players got a little fire on them like Boogie.

I said 'maybe'. And whats wrong with Horford and Jefferson?
I also forgot Pau Gasol. He's better than Cousins but I suppose he's more of a PF.

There's no "maybe" about it, it's really not even close. Cousins shits on Noah, Horford, and Jefferson.

cousins can post, dwight can't. cousins can pass out of the double team, dwight can't anymore. cousins can shoot, dwight can't. cousins can drive iso, dwight can't.
only thing dwight has over cousins is defense, but he's no where near the player he used to be regardless.

No he doesn't. He's done jack shit in the NBA.
That has absolutely nothing to do with who they are as players right now. Duncan is a 5x champ and Davis is unquestionably better than him right now despite also not doing jack shit in the NBA. Same way Cousins, again, shits on Noah, Horford, and Jefferson as players right now.

When I watch Cousins I see a man amongst boys. He's next level.
He's got a domination factor we only see from a couple players a year.

I'd blame that on the Kings more than anything else, it finally looks like they are making progress and they go and fire the coach.

But he doesn't. I've watched him closely this season. He's on a team that is built around him offensively but since his great start (where he looked to be on the same level as Gasols/Howard) he's slowed down markedly. Call it an effect of his bout with meningitis but he hasn't been helping his team win and his attitude has been atrocious lately.

What's next, Brook Lopez is just a notch below DMC?
Jefferson is a one-dimensional black hole who can't play defense and who doesn't impact wins. He's a homeless man's past-his-prime Kevin McHale.

No, you clearly haven't watched him closely at all. Anyone who thinks Noah or Jefferson is better than Cousins this year has no clue what they're talking about.
Kings with Cousins: 13-12 (43 win pace)
Kings without Cousins: 2-9 (15 win pace)
Net on/off: +16.9...7.5 points better on offense, 9.4 points better on defense.
2nd highest RPM among centers, behind Tyson Chandler....fun fact: Al Jefferson doesn't crack the top 60.

Which is still retarded. There's no "maybe" about it. Cousins is on another planet compared to Noah. It's like saying Rudy Gay "might" be better than healthy Lebron....No. He's unquestionably not.
No shit they're not gonna win. They're in a conference where 50 wins is the 8th seed and he's playing with vastly inferior talent than any other playoff team, his coach gets fired right when they're making progress, he goes down with an illness and the team gets raped in that stretch...what the **** are you expecting?
If we're going by team success, Horford >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Anthony Davis, right?

yeah and I said he's at best the 4th best C--behind Gasol (or both gasols if considering them both Centers), Howard, and Davis...
Cousins' team has as much talent as 35 year old Dirk's had last season (except a far worse coach). Dude's been in the league 5 seasons now, it's time for him to get some wins before you can proclaim him a top center.

Backpedaling. You had him below Noah, Horford and Jefferson until people clowned you for it. But whatever. If you wanna hold shitty circumstances against a player who is clearly an unreal talent, go ahead.
I just find it amusing that a Dragic fan like yourself is saying this, when Dragic's team missed the playoffs last year and will this year as well with more talent than Cousins' team, as well as a better coach, while Dragic is at his peak and Cousins might not even be in his prime. Gotta love those double standards, am I right?

Not at all. I said those guys might be better than him. I agree with you that he is better than those three.
Dragic proved himself by leading a mediocre supporting cast to 48 wins...Cousins has never even broken even in his career.

The illness of course slowed him down. It affected conditioning and his rhythm. Additionally, the team fired his favorite coach, the only one who got him playing consistently on both ends, without consulting him. How many star-level guys don't get mad about that? Should he stop pouting? Yes. Is it understandable? Yes.
And what does Cousins do? He's a shitty defender and doesn't impact wins either.

In the past, Cousins didn't give enough effort defensively. This year, under Malone, he provided a real 2-way impact if you watched the games. Smartened up his rotations and effort went way up. You could also attribute his improvement due to his Team USA experience, where he was coached by Thibs (this experience also makes a tangible impact on other guys- just look at Thibs' track record as a Team USA assistant).
Cousins is the best offensive C in the league, hands down, and when he's motivated, he's the best overall C. He was motivated under Malone. Corbin is literally one of the 3 worst head coaches and Boogie's still ticked about MM's firing. That's why his attitude stinks again. His front office & ownership threw away the season for him.
