Seems like this dude spends more time talking about sports than policy.

Not that he doesn't make time to offer some racially divisive statements or insult the brave young children who participate in the special olympics.

But still, he really oughtta worry more about meaningful issues and less about the sporting landscape.

Read an article on Yahoo and they pick up on Duncan not wearing a tie visiting the White House that some may see as a sign of disrespect.

Timmy wears casual business. What's wrong with it? :confusedshrug:

He is one of NBA players who express against NBA dress code, by the way.

Obama to Parker and Diaw - **** France.

Agreed - Hawk fans on a roll  Even as a Spur fan, I prefer Obama be in France with all the other world leaders representing the US instead of making basketball jokes about the Spurs.

you dumbasses.

Spurs win the championship so they make a visit to the White House= Obama makes a comment in regards to them in acknowledgment of their victory. is that so hard to comprehend? or maybe he shouldve discussed ways of combatting terrorism with Tim Duncan while he was there:confusedshrug:

What's hard to comprehend is that he should have been in Paris like all the other world leaders in the anti-terrorism march. Instead of representing the US, he was making basketball jokes (White House already admitted they made a mistake).

Not too long ago America was ridiculing France for intelligently not supporting the Iraq war. Congress was mocking their army and starting that Freedom Fries and Freedom toast bullshit. Now France matters because they got a little taste of terrorism. Who hasn't these days? Who cares if leaders go hand in hand and take a ceremonial photo-op walk for anti-terrorism. Is it going to change the senseless violence that's been going on for decades? No.

What is wrong is the impression/perception of US non-representation in the march. My local radio station just now played part of Obama's speech (joking about Tim's grey hair) and the announcer mocked, "At least, Obama didn't mention Parker, their FRENCH star." Look, white houses almost never admit mistakes - they did here. And the Spurs (by association) are getting negative publicity because they happen to be on schedule while Obama was missing the march.

There's nothing wrong with it. There's nothing right with it either. There are far worse atrocities happening in the world that people, the media and these leaders don't give a damn about. I don't care about photo-ops and "representations" or the media sensationalizing every little detail about 12-15 people getting killed. This is not a 9/11 level event. Hell, more elementary school kids got slaughtered at Sandy Hook than the number dead in France. What did it change in America? Not a damn thing. It was forgotten about just like this will be forgotten about once the 24/7 news cycle finds something else to latch on to.
