streak?
They only lost to the Hawks by 3 points.

No question. It's going to be amazing when they meet in the ECF. Super-mega powerhouses clashing.

Hawks making the ECF? I want some of what you're smoking

Nope. Him being on the court would have a butterfly effect on the game and the Pistons would likely have not hit the amount of contested fade away threes they did.

Oh yeah for sure! I mean, Hawks weren't up all game or anything, and Pistons didn't chuck miracle 3s at the end to make the game seem close when in reality Pistons were destroyed on every aspect of the court.
But they only lost by three.
Please, I know you're just looking at the box score and don't actually know what happened during the game, but the Hawks forced the pistons to chuck 45 ****ing 3s lol. There was no sets being ran, no ball movement, all iso ball pull up 3s that started going in at the end of the game.
KCP is a terrible player.

24k posts in 2 and a half years. Granted, not as bad as arbitrarywater, but wow. 2nd place.

Wouldn't the game have been a lot closer with Drummond at 100% and guarding the paint?

Not really, Drummond, even when 100%, is not a perimeter defender. He is a great shot blocker in the paint and an excellent post defender, but Hawks rarely went to the post in the first place. Millsap and Horford exploited their primary weakness, and that's defending bigs with a solid jumper.
Drummond also wouldn't of contributed much on the offensive end either, and he didn't start "feeling ill", until the third quarter. And tbh, he seemed perfectly fine to me, I just think the coaching staff didn't want to admit they benched him for his inability to guard Horford.

Are you retarded? They are supposed to shoot 3s, it's Stan van Gundy's system.

They shot their franchise record for 3s in a game because the Hawks defense is too good for them to figure out.

They were literally CHUCKING prayers is what I am saying, and I really doubt SVG wants his players to shoot contested 3s all game and pray they go in.
Pistons were getting insanely lucky towards the end of the game when the contested 3s started falling.
You clearly did not watch the game, so you're not really able to be objective about it.

And it almost got them back in the game.

They made a ton of lucky contested 3s and we went cold. Their offense was in no way outplaying our defense though. Just a stretch you'll see occasionally when they hit a bunch of bad shots.

No, it actually lost them the game.
I honestly don't know why you can't comprehend what I'm saying. Pistons may have shot only 4 good looks from 3s out of 43 three pointers. They shot only 29% from 3 whilst the hawks shot 42% from 3 on 23 attempts.
Had they not chucked from 3 all game and maybe followed SVG's system of ball spread and transition 3s like he wanted them do, then sure they would have won. But everyone on the Pistons locked in hero mode and just started chucking up 3s(especially KCP).
Tolliver also had a career night, a night he will never have again. And the pistons still lost.
Had Drummond been in the game, Tolly would have never got those 3s in, and Pistons lose by double digits.

Detroit were playing like a well oiled machine after the Josh's Smith trade. In order for it to work all the pieces need to be put together on the basketball court. Drummond is a perfect player for SVG because he is yet another inside presence besides Monroe and it provides flexibility. Both Monroe and Drummond rarely even play alongside each other.
Just imagine that after a several game win streak Hawks lose Millsap or Horford. Would you bet on them winning the next match against the powerhouses of the West for example?

Well, that depends.
If Millsap or Horford goes out, what if Mike Scott/Antic have a career game and just go off? Mike Scott and Antic are both great shooters that can easily go off at any moment. The chances are low, if they have career games, like Tolly did, then yes, I do believe they would be able to win the match up. If they play like bench players while getting Millsap/Horford's PT, then no, I don't think we would win.

While I agree the hawks still win, it was known he was sick before the game.

tolliver's career high is 34. 21 rebounds. He was pretty lights out down the stretch. As you point out, it was not a close game at all. blow out the whole way.

The Hawks let them back into the game and Drummond is overrated.

What was Drummond doing while Jonas Valanciunas was getting 34/12 on 14-15 shooting?
So much for the great defensive big man.
