Teddy Atlas predicted a Wilder KO in the first but I'm not so sure. Either way first HW fight I'm actually looking forward to watching in ages aside from my boy Tarver coming back and whopping the shit out of Vladimir's coach a couple weeks back.

Stiverne is a much more skilled boxer than Wilder, but Wilder has a game changing power.

I picked Wilder via KO in the 5th round. I wish Emmanuel Steward could have train Wilder.

Wilder has never seen the 5th round before

If Wilder wins, he will be the first heavyweight camp since shannon briggs. I think he will take it.

The Great American Hope.

Hopefully Wilder wins. If he takes it, first American Heavyweight in about ten years. And, we'll see a Heavyweight showdown on national TV as part of NBC by the summer time.

If stiverne can weather that early storm , wilder could be taken to deep waters ..hoping for a wilder win tho.

I'll be honest, I haven't watched boxing in ages. But I've seen the ads for this fight on TV for the past couple weeks, and it really intrigues me. Intrigues me enough to want to get some people over for it like we used to.

Wladimir Klitschko needs to fight more frequently in the US. I think it's going to be Deonthay Wilder vs. Bermane Stiverne vs. Wladimir Klitschko on April 25, 2015 at Barclays Center, New York City, New York.

That's something I'd consider going to see live. I do enjoy the trip to Brooklyn.

Wilder is just another Haymon hype job whose been fed nothing but taxi drivers to inflate his record. He has decent power (not enough to keep Charlie Z down though :lol ) and that's about it. I expect GucciMane Stiverne to break him down and KO him late.

Either way, the winner will be clowned by Big Klit in the near future.

But can Wilder beat Charlie Zelenoff first?

But who has Stiverne fought doe, bus drivers. Cab driver vs. bus driver. Unless you want to count Chris Arreola, who is the real hype job.

Wilder is no Seth Mitchell man.

Stiverne is more battle tested

Arreola was out boxing him in the first 5 rounds until he gassed out, and Stiverne landed most of his power shots in the 6th round.

I want one of these guys to emerge as someone who we can get excited for against Wlad, because in reality myself and most people haven't been excited for a HW fight in years.

If Deontay wipes out Stiverne, I'm gonna interested to see him in there against Wlad. Wlad's is big but he has that questionable chin and if Deontay puts his fist on it we could see the end of an era.*

I was among those excited about Wlad-Haye...... until the fight actually happened. Then it was just another in a long line of disappointments. I'm tired of having excuses made for Wlad every time he goes out there and bores us half to death with a crap fight. Again... the blame goes both ways.... both to Wlad, and his crap opponents. I think we are dying for some real heavyweight action

idk why Wilder doesn't go to the body at all

still an impressive showing by him considering he's never been in a fight that went past round 4

I assume we'll see Fury/Wilder later this year

Missed it. Was the fight any good? Lots of haymakers?

Wilder just circled the ring the entire fight and kept tagging Stiverne with jabs, who wasn't able to close the distance and land combos successfully. Watch one round and you've seen the whole fight. Mediocre fight that petered out a little bit once it became clear Stiverne already accepted the loss about halfway through.

I wasn't totally sold on Stiverne, but to be honest he impressed me last night with his toughness and grit.

People are going to say "oh he fought the wrong fight, he should have thrown more punches". Sounds good but if he had thrown more and opened himself more he probably would have gotten KTFO.

His plan made sense on paper: survive, let the guy who's never been past 4 rounds punch himself out, then take over and finish. Same thing Bhop no doubt had in mind for Kovalev. But like Kovalev, Deontay paced himself well, picked his spots and dominated.

Wilder looked fantatsic. Great jab, straightened out his right hand, took good punches and didn't look winded going 12.

Props to Stiverne's chin though.
