Is that the future? So many of them are already here doing some good work now most of them are young guys with a lot of guys with potential.

Guess Kobe was right.

D-Mo
Valenciunas
P Gasol
M Gasol
Nurkic
Splitter
Asik
Mirotic
Vucevic
Dieng
Kanter
Embiid

Incoming:
Saric
Pleiss

Americans need to start developing their big mens skills and not only use them for size/athleticism or the internationals will completely own the big man position in the future.

Why is this a problem?

Cousins, Love, Aldridge, Anthony Davis, Monroe, and Griffin are all in their 20s and better than all those guys except for maybe Marc and Pau

Asik and Splitter are as average as they come skill wise. They get by on physical tools, defensive acumen, and motor

has great vision and passing for a big man.
and actual post skills, he just doesn't use them in the system he plays.

AD will become one of the best PFs of all time if He stays healthy but Op has a point. Europe is producing tons of good big men lately.

he's a good passer but he's got no touch at all and is a poor finisher around the rim. you can have great post moves but it doesn't mean much when you can't consistently convert them. he stiff arms an ungodly amount of hook shots and would be a liability if he was counted on as a serious option in the post.

this isn't a new thing though...there's been great international big men for the last 20 years...

I think bigs get more attention from scouts. International big men are less likely to fall through the cracks compared to international guards.

yes but you make it sound like you put any C on the spurs system and it automatically works

deandre jordan would struggle per example

Splitter is an absolute scrub. He has nothing but size and athletic ability, and a willingness to play defense.

He sucked his entire career. He sucked the whole time he was in Brazil's national team, the whole time he played in Europe, and he sucks now.
