I'm not one for conspiracies in general and usually approach both mainstream news and conspiracy theories with skepticism, but this video a friend of mine posted seems pretty interesting to me. Not here often enough these days so sorry if it's a repost, and if someone can quickly shoot this theory down, so be it.

Title edit: Charlie Hebdo cop really shot?

I'm not a conspiracy theory guy, but the magazine was going bankrupt. With the 3 million copies that will be sold due to the crazy exposure and everyone uniting in their favor, I am pretty sure they will get rich off this. Food for thought, jus' sayin.

Well that's pretty extreme. I don't think they can fake 12 deaths or someone can be evil enough to have 12 of his employees murdered for financial gain. But this video seems pretty clear that the cop wasn't shot in the head. And I remember when discussing the initial attack with others, how we were all surprised how casually the terrorist had shot the cop in full running motion without even stopping to check

Don't you know by now. Muslims (IS) and extreme go hand and hand.

It is extreme that is why I am not giving it serious thought. I remember when Biggie died, who benefitted the most? It was that slimeball Diddy, sorry was a little off-topic.
Those terrorists only benefitted for 5 minutes before it was announced they would print more cartoons of the Holy Prophet and not back down, and it would unite the whole country against them. They made martyrs out of those guys they killed, and saved the magazine. It was the ultimate fail for the terrorists.

You mean ultimate fail for Islam (IS) and now we get the see the greatest satire of all and that is Muslims having to hold a Charlie magazine that insults their prophet in a silent protest.:lol

Oddly enough, by attacking one of the very few publications willing to print anti-islam cartoons, they made MANY more publications willing to print them.

Maybe so, but the consequence doesn't always explain the cause. You can't expect two insane militants to have the foresight to understand how the situation will benefit or hinder their cause.
They solely wanted to act, needed that bloodlust act of horror to give their meaningless lives some kind of significance, and die believing that they made their God proud.
Still the fact that the media is rolling with the story that the cop got shot in the head, and that the investigator in the case allegedly committed suicide, from what I've read, definitely raises some concerns

...and the global Je suis Charlie movement too which many Muslims are supporting.
Ultimate backfire.
RIP to the victims.

What do you think the video shows?
The guy who made the video StormCloudsGathering is a giant, "This is the real story the media doesn't want you to know" conspiracy nut. It's funny because pretty much all his commentary is on stories the media is covering pretty intensely.

That the officer wasn't shot in the head at point blank like most media stories have covered. At the very least, shows the media sprouting gross inaccuracies.
And if he wasn't shot in the head. How did he die? In hospital from gun wounds? On site? Don't they have an autopsy? Just wondering.
It doesn't prove much more than that but it's still something worth looking into

So one inaccuracy should nullify everything they reported about the shooting eh?
So it didn't happen and Muslims are peaceful.

I have never said that and have no agenda. If you've been reading the thread in fact I've been arguing against a huge conspiracy cover up.
It's still an interesting video though. It's funny how dialogue online always has to have two sides. Facts don't have a side, they're just there. It's nice to observe and dissect them and then have educated observations and discourse about them

Sure feels like 9/11 again.
Paris: Terrorists accidentally leave their IDs in the getaway car.
NY: Terrorist passports magically survive a plane explosion / building collapse.
Not to mention, both incidents involve people mysteriously committing suicide / dying.

What in the video leads you to believe that? And do you think a bullet was fired but missed?

From the video it looks like the cop says cest correct chef ( it's ok chief) and then one of them shoots a bullet that misses and hits the ground and they take off

He watched the video, heard the argument, and derived his conclusion from that.
To you, that is a conspiracy because you rely on blind faith to upheld your anti-conspiracy position. Yes Kevin, we all know you don't think the news ever lies and the government is perfect, so stop trolling, and let the people with a bit of common sense believe what they want to believe. It's not hurting anybody.

Can someone produce an official statement that the officer died from a headshot wound? It looked like the shooter missed the headshot, however, the officer was on the ground before the video started recording so you can assume he was already shot which was most likely cause of death.
I like how conspiracy theorists call out the media for manipulating evidence to look like something else, but when in fact they are guilty more so of doing the same.

So you think they committed suicide to boost sales?
Or did other cartoonists at the paper decide to kill their colleagues to make money?

At no time is the rifle ever pointed at the pock dust from the ricochet circled in the video highlights so right from the start you can see the author is ignoring basic geometry and has no knowledge of ballistics. Bullets go straight until they run out of energy.
That's an AK47 an extremely high powered weapon used for mid range combat with a lethal range up to 1700 yards. The shell used in an AK would pass right through a skull with little to no damage at that close of range, it's a rather small bullet in diameter sitting atop a rather large casing and it hasn't even began to tumble or yaw at that point, it's still trying to settle into flight mode. Mostly likely if that is the kill shot it entered and exited leaving holes not much larger than the projectile itself.
The Hollywood blood splatter the author claims is missing is missing because that type of shot with that weapon at that range isn't going to build up the required pressure to create that effect and the blood won't flow if the heart is stopped. It just trickles out
The watermelon is a nice touch. Showing a soft target being hit by a large caliber low velocity projectile is dramatic but has nothing to do with his topic and I wonder why the author of the video put it in.

You guys don't even believe your own eyes. A bullet shot to the head with no blood is probably not a shot to the head. You guys can ignore basic facts and come up with bullsh*t excuses like "the heart just stopped" (although the guy was still alive and moving before the shot) or whatever excuses to withhold your blind faith against all things conspiracy.
The fact is truth will always prevail no matter how much you try and deny it. Sure there are some horrible conspiracies out there spilled by a bunch of crazies, but by acting as if all of them are false and the media is perfect is blatantly as dishonest as the crazies.

In a stressful situation mistakes occur. I think if this was a cover up they could have found a more sophisticated cover up.

lol .. why would they even bring an identification with them to commit such a crime ? placing them at the crime scene .. and then said id is conveniently found tucked in the car .. sounds like some contrived shit from a scripted cop show

In whose car did they find the ID? was it a stolen car?
