it was a shot to tie the game

if the team had played better, he wouldn't have needed to take a tough shot in transition to try to get it to OT...

In all seriousness is Kobe injured and they aren't saying it?

I've heard the noise about him wrapping it up for the season. And lately he looks bad. I'm thinking this dude is done.

Couldn't ask for a better game. Keep it competitive and still lose in the end. The tank rolls on.

we've known that he's done since the 2nd injury. This is just borrowed time to see him play for the record

Yeah but he was dropping triple doubles not too long ago. I'm talking about something else is up with his body dude. Sitting out all these games suddenly and looking like an entirely different player out there.

He just doesn't have the endurance anymore, he got fatigued in 25 or so games :confusedshrug: and missing 2-3 games in a row will affect his rhythm

he's also more focused on passing/playmaking, tonight he should have had like 10+ assists but a lot of teammates missed wide open shots, he took most of his within the offense and they did not fall, made a shot in the 4th but others you could see fell short, he was open on a lot of them...

They might need to shut him down after the ASB so he could continue rehabbing himself and get his legs stronger so next season he could get back to destroying defenders in the post. Right now he just doesn't have the lower body strength, explosion nor agility.

It wasn't father time that beat Kobe, it was f*cking injuries. Obviously age plays a part but there's no way he'd look like this right now if he never tore his Achilles.

It's so f*cking shitty that injuries had to take Kobe out. It's literally night and day difference between current Kobe and '12-13 Kobe.

I don't think you understand. The older you get, the easier you get injured.

And the harder it is to recover from injuries, including the small ones.

Kobe won't hang them up, too much pride in himself and he doesn't give a shit about the team and his teammates. He's going down in flames.

His minutes should be decreased to 31-33min and he probably should rest after every 3rd to 4th game.

Kobe entered the 4th with 5:03 left, he went 2/9 with a turnover. The rest of the team was 3/3

NBATV had a moment last night with Kobe's minute comparison in Oct-Nov to Dec-Jan, and Scott justifying it...Steve Smith laughing til tears rolled out. hopefully someone has it recorded to post

the graph said he was avg something like 36.2 mins in Oct-Nov, and Scott reduced his roll to help preserve Kobe's longevity, and the graph then showing 35.9 mins for Dec-Jan. the Byron Scott methodology :lol :lol :lol

What the hell are you smoking. Kobe has been consistently bad this season and people would not be surprised anymore if he goes like 3 for 30.

injured or just plain old broken down after 19 years in the league...

problem is what ever it is he can't get the reps in needed to get his shooting touch on target and if he practices enough to get his touch back he has nothing left.. the two injuries were just too big too close together and too late in his career.. 25 year olds have problems recovering from those types of injuries, 36 year olds with 56,000 minutes of game time alone are going to have even greater problems

I think at this point the only thing he can do since he didn't even practice or train fro nearly a year is shut it down for this season and regroup. instead of wasting energy for a losing cause night after night, practice with the team on some level, work with the team but more importantly go on a strength training routine and get up plenty of shots like he used to do then see where he stands... he's too old to be trying to play his way back into game shape

I had him number 15th on the all time list.

25th seems fair enough now after these loser performances.

Kobe w/ another miss on a game-tying/go-ahead FG in final 24 sec. Per @bball_ref, 2-10 on such shots this season, 8-34 (21%) since 2011-12.
