The Lakers need to finish in the bottom 5 to keep their pick.
So a trade of Williams to the Lakers would have to wait until the summer, if the Nets go into rebuild mode and the Lakers can't get any other top free agents.

Makes sense actually. Deron isn't worth nearly as much anymore. Nets are definitely going to be blowing it up to.

Brooklyn would jump on this so fast. LAL would never offer it, but that would be a coup for Billy King if he could get expiring deals for D-Will's decaying body.

Makes sense for who exactly? The nets? Cause in no way, shape, or form is that even a remotely good idea for the lakers

maybe he can resurrect his career while playing along side boozer again. Kobe, Boozer, and Deron members of the redeemed team.

He deserves a veteran minimum. Even Jeff agrees.

In 18 games as a reserve, Lakers power forward Carlos Boozer is averaging 13.4 points on 56.5 percent shooting and 7.8 rebounds in 24.1 minutes.

Deron is still an upgrade over Lin and it's absolutely a good trade for the Nets. Laker fans are dumb and impatient like Knicks fans, they'll be creating championship cruise threads after the trade goes through and then watch their team go 20-40 and blame Deron for everything.

so in other words, its not a good trade for LA... No way theyd take on a 20 mil contract next season. and you have the tenacity to call laker fans dumb :facepalm

and obviously its a great trade for the nets. but again, why would LA consider crippling their cap space for next season even more?

If it had happened earlier before Kobe was also washed up it would be nice. I think Kobe could help Deron a lot. I still think he could benefit from playing on that Lakers. The Nets aren't a worse team than LA but I think LA might be going somewhere before NJ, and nothing is worse than having no future.

Its an upgrade for lin but for 20mil? Lol there are so many capable pgs in the league right now and for cheaper and better than Deron

Man people who agree on this are dumb a and should just stop posting

Please no. He's too old, too expensive, and his contract is long. This is a waste of cap space.

I thought Lakers fans hate Lin and he's ****ing garbage? Why are Laker fans not salivating at the thought of getting Deron Williams' Corpse for Lin/Nash?

I honestly feel Lin can thrive on that Nets team. Lin's at his best playing next to inferior teammates.(Except for JJ and KG).

Lol that photoshopped pic will become reality if the trade is actually finalized. his facial expression will probably look like that at the post trade press conference interview also.

If Williams really is hurt, the Nets can release him and use the stretch provision on the rest of his contract.
