It doesn't take a genius to figure out where on the court you should have Shaq go to work. Coaches could figure that out without much data by contrast the proper utilization of players such as Korver or Horford is more difficult. Advanced data makes it much easier to figure out how to utilize those type of players.

The game of basketball is inherently tilted towards superstar play and even still teams with true superstars have a big advantage. Data however has made it easier for teams like the Hawks. Atlanta is a true title contender and it is fun to watch.
