They have never made it past the second round, and without a star I personally feel they will not make it past the ECF this year either. If they are playing this well at the 70 game point of the season I will definitely anoint them the team to beat out of the East. not surprising. pau gasol leads the team in player efficiency, while jimmy buttler does in RAPM. both clearly ahead of derrick rose in those statistics. thing is i don't expect rose to be the mvp caliber player he once was in 2011, but even if he were, these guys would still carry more impact e.g. effecting all facets of the game.

one bad game isn't thread worthy, though. pau gasol is the most consistent offensive player on the team along with jimmy butler (arguably the best 2-way player in the game).

I'd say he was this good or close to it in the 2011-12 regular season...then completely disappeared in the Playoffs.
