From ESPN main page:
http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12168515/bone-broth-soup-helping-los-angeles-lakers-kobe-bryant

Essentially, Lakers chef boils bones from the meat put in to soups to make the broth, rather than using a chicken-, or water- based broth.

Supposed to help with bone and joint healing, since all of the bone properties, and vitamins and minerals, come in the soup.

Interesting read from a health standpoint, though I do question the effectiveness of it.

Edit: Sorry if this was already posted. I checked the first three pages and saw nothing.

Plenty of cultures consider bone marrow a delicacy and extremely healthy. Not a biggie.

I certainly didn't know that.

Though I do agree that it's "not a biggie". Just something interesting in the world of basketball, and this is a basketball forum.

This is genius.

Lebron's nutritionist should look into feeding him 4 quarters a day.

He wouldn't be able to stomach the 4th quarter.

This is the description of how every mom and grandma makes beef stock.

He'd be able to eat the first few but he might choke on that 4th one, they should feed him hairlines instead

Was gonna say, I thought boiling bones was kind of the standard way to make a broth.

???

Bones are vital in the making of stock/broth. You'd be stupid to just dump the meat in and leave the bones out.

when me and my family went to vietnam on vacation, a man from my grandmas village, who is pretty much a natural remedy doctor, came by with a rhinoceros horn. My brother always had asthma and drinking rhino horn would strenghten his immune system, so the doctor grinded it down with water on some marble stone, and my brother drank about one eight of a cups worth. My brother never had ashma again. I still regret being to scared to drink it, i knew at that moment i was making a huge mistake, but i was only about 11.

Rhino horn is the exact same substance as your fingernails and toenails... it's nothing more than keratin. Rhinos are practically extinct in vietnam now. No matter, your story is likely bullshit anyways.

I just read this article and my first thought was...what the ****? Why is there an article about Kobe's longevity and being able to play into his twilight...at this point in the season? He was horrendous in december and he's been even worse in january. (.345% in dec, .305% in jan) Why would you put this article out right now? If drinking some stock (broth is made with the meat, stock with the bones) is responsible for him playing this well...I cringe at what he'd be without it. :kobe:

not bullshitting. inside the horn looks like a pattern similar to the inside of a jawbreaker if you cut it in half. The doctor took it and did "rounding" motions on the marble with a little water for about 30 minutes, the end product was a milky like liquid.

Just because you cite your joke and try to make good fun of it doesn't make it any less idiotic.

"You know when an old lion promises he'll bring the jordan flop video with more flops then LeBron?"

He's right, it's akin to eating toenails, this has been disproven a million times yet they keep murdering the rhinos.
