Damn, sick move for the Clippers. Rivers has more talent than 95% of the NBA, people forget he's still supposed to be in college! He has all the tools necessary to succeed, all he needs is confidence which none of his NBA coaches have given him. His pops will give him that and more, by the end of the season Rivers will take over the 6th man role from Crawford. 15/5/3 on 50/35/70

Conflict of interest. How are things going to go down when Austin needs to renegotiate a new contract?

I agree. That is the first thing that came into my mind but also on the flip side, NBA teams are privately owned at they can make their own policy on how to run internal procedures.

The question you have mentioned sticks out to me the most as Doc is also the GM for the team which make the conflict of interest issue even bigger.

I think Doc is going to coach his kid how to survive the league and let him sign with another team.

Maybe Farmar can be our Josh Smith?

I'm kidding. This whole season's gone to shit.

At this point Rivers has shown the competency consistent of Joe Dumars when it comes to asset management. And he's not even that great of a coach.

I think this spells trouble for the Clippers. Never good to mix family with coaching and talent, especially in the pro's. If he gets PT, the players who don't will bitch. Has this ever happened before? I can only think of George Karl and Coby Karl. But Coby sucked and never really played for Denver. Did the Dunleavy's do this?

I kinda wish the celtics got bullock. well nevermind.

I dont even know what the clippers are thinking.

Some interesting perspective from sr and I think he's completely right.

It's still breaking news. Even more so due to a trade for the coaches son.

I don't see it being a big issue though, Doc is a known asshole and I doubt he will treat his son any different.

One more reason to dislike this team. Great move.

yep, seems like a pointless move. They need a starting caliber sf, not a backup to the backup pg. oh well

So Rivers just traded our only 3&D guy, one of or two assets, for shit.

Farmar is better than Rivers. What exactly is Rivers supposed to bring to this team?

Clippers need a wing defender and a backup center. Their answer is no-experience tweener and a 34 year old never-was? :confusedshrug:

If I were a Clipper player, I'd be upset over this move. They took a step back with the moves. Austin Rivers maybe stays healthier than Farmar, but they shouldn't have needed to trade for him + waive Farmar. Doc has crippled this franchise. Legitly should only have one more year to prove himself as a GM before Ballmer should step in to relieve him of his duties (keep him as a coach tho). I'd give him through end of next season to start making smart moves.

The problem with this move is that it's high-risk, zero reward. The only moment we needed a guy like Rivers is when we waived Farmar.........who was only waived to acquire Rivers.

Does anyone else see the irony in this?

This reminds of that Simpsons episode where Homer becomes Bart's football coach and cuts everyone. Eventually Bart gets arrested for the good of the team. Will we see Austin get himself banned for important games of the playoffs for the good of the Clippers ?

All we have to do now is wait for the Disney rendition of this moment starring Michael Keaton and Zach Efron as Doc and Austin, respectively.

Lol the suns just keep winning with trades this season......and I'm just happy the celtics got rid of rivers..

The Suns' roster now stands at 15 with 8 guards.

Goran Dragic
Zoran Dragic
Eric Bledsoe
Isaiah Thomas
Gerald Green
Archie Goodwin
Tyler Ennis
Reggie Bullock

What do you see our team doing?
