Haha. This comment is on point.
You have to respect this level of premeditated trolling. Walton ordered the book, brought it to the game, waited for his chance on live tv.
Throw it down, big man.

So, I decided to go further down the rabbit hole, and I found this little doozy.
Bill: "I was way in the back with Ray Lewis and it was unbelievable how much fun, oh my gosh, how many people were in there!"
Dave: "We'll just dismiss that, and... get back to the game."
Bill: "If they're gonna suspend Bill Simmons, anything is possible!"
Dave:"Again, we'll just dismiss that, and... get back to the game."
Bill: "Your wife has been calling me."
I never knew Walton was this ****in hilarious.
Holy shit. I'm crying right now.
No one can convince me he's not trying to get canned tho.

Is there a YouTube clip of that sequence? I've loved Walton as an announcer forever, mostly for his being ironically hilarious, but it's even better when he gets something stuck in his craw.
ESPN just suspended Baseball writer Keith Law apparently for defending evolution on Twitter.

Just follow the links on Deadspin.
I didn't know ESPN was so **** about religion and all of creation.

I love it to because you can tell he's mad as f*ck. You should be embarrassed to be a creationist.

Deadspin was locking up my computer. I'll have to try it again later.
Walton seems to be in semi retirement anyway. He only seems to do Arizona and UCLA games, two areas he calls home anyway.

1. Where is the "BREAKING" intro?
2. If he is a creationist, why does that matter? People have a right to their personal religious beliefs. I don't see how that is relevant to him being an announcer.

It doesn't matter as long as you're not negatively influencing others with your beliefs... that being said the idea of creationism is just moronic. Believing that the Earth is only thousands of years old and not believing in evolution... pretty stupid.

1. It's not breaking news.
2. He has a right to believe anything he wants, and we have a right to point at him and laugh as loud as possible. :oldlol:

When are you guys going to release Bargnani, so he can join the Hawks and drain threes alongside Korver, Millsap, Teague, et al.
Thanks.

He's fine as a broadcaster and I don't care what his beliefs are, they don't affect his broadcasting. He can believe anything he wants and I can keep believing he's a moron.

Walton is the best! In that same game a kid flopped and he called out Duke and Coach K about the state of flopping to Jay Bilas (former Duke player).
The guy is hysterical.

I understand the people who are raised with it, it must be tough when your taught one thing all your life, but the people who adopt it through their own choice baffle me.

The best part of the exchange may have been Jay Bilas of all people pointing out how awesome Cake (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSypnaxAlP4)is, which happens to be true, but nonetheless hilarious given the context.
Walton is such a character. He traveled with the Dead back in the day... even went to Europe with them. It's hard to imagine that devoted of a hippie would also be f#cking awesome at basketball.
I <3 Walton
Bill Walton talking about his love for the Dead, leading a drum circle into Arco Arena with Grateful Dead drummer Mickey Hart just prior to a Kings tipoff, showing off his Asian wife, etc. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=062SYs8l3Sc)
Also, Bill loves Boris Diaw. A lot. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6KkrccHEAqg)

This is an old post, but Bill Walton has always been hilarious. He's def under the I don't give a **** category of announcers.
He's prolly one of those dudes who nobody thinks is smart cuz he's so goofy. But he's def a troll and funny with all of his hyperbole.

Walton: I wonder if he'd have as hard a time finding an open look as he has locating all his siblings. You know, like Skip Bayless desperately seeking the approval of all the kids who were better at sports than him in high school...just hopeless, am I right, Dave?
Straight up rat poison
