Wade had his best season and the most memorable performance/moment of his career in the 2000's. Not sure why he'd be on the 2010 team

IDK He wasnt good enough to replace anyone on the 00 team and i cant think of a SG besides Kobe better then Wade on the 10 squad.

2000s is interesting.

Right off the bat, I think both Garnett and Dirk should be ahead of T-Mac. I'd also push Nash > AI, but Im probably in the minority there.

Secondly, are we doing this as sort of a generational thing or strictly what they did in that decade? If it's the latter, I think my F-F-C for the 2000s would actually be Garnett, Dirk, Duncan.

Shaq's 04/05 impact gets overrated and after 06 he wasn't that good. :confusedshrug:

It's tough though, because 00-02 Shaq was insane.

Yeah i hear you, leaving Dirk and Garnett was tought i should probably switch one of them for Tmac and i had Kidd or Nash > Iverson but idk how anyone could leave him off a decade list, he was insane int he 00's and Shaq is just Shaq lol

Must be a really week era of big men - Howard so soft compared to the rest of that list.

Also I find the question of best PG interesting. I think it's way to early to know who the best guard of the 10's will be... There are so many elite dudes establishing themselves this year.

That's a very good list.

Mine, overall, would probably be (without repeating players and few times having some off their "natural" position)...

50's:

G: Cousy
G: Sharman
F: Schayes/Arizin (Dolph was a PF, can't leave him out)
F: Pettit
C: Mikan/Johnston (Neil proved himself post-shot clock)

HM: Davies, Pollard, Froust, Slater, Lovellette, Stokes...

60's:

G: Robertson
G: West
F: Baylor
F: Russell (gotta include him and Wilt)
C: Chamberlain

HM - Jones, Lucas, Thurmond, Greer, Bellamy, Gus Johnson, Heinsohn, Monroe (think he had his best couple of years in the 60's but certainly played more while winning titles in the 70's)...

70's:

G: Frazier
G: Erving (he was a SF though)
F: Hondo/Barry
F: Walton (can't leave him out so he goes at PF over Hayes; mostly due to peak)
C: Jabbar

HM - McAdoo, Hayes, Cowens, Reed, Gervin, Tiny, Pistol, Westphal, Goodrich, Cunningham...

80's (most likely the GOAT decade when you "repeat" players):

G: Thomas
G: Johnson
F: Bird
F: McHale/Barkley
C: Malone

HM - Wilkins, Moncrief, King, English, Worthy, DJ, Dantley, Gus, Marques, Sampson, Parish, Ellis, Lever...

90's:

G: Stockton
G: Jordan
F: Pippen
F: Malone/Barkley
C: Olajuwon

HM - D-Rob, Ewing, Drexler, Miller, Kemp, Price, Payton, KJ, Hill, Penny, Mullin...

00's

G: Nash/Iverson
G: Bryant
F: Garnett (can't leave him out)
F: Duncan
C: O'Neal

HM - Dirk (very tough to leave out, could even be in the next one), McGrady, Kidd, Pierce, Ming, Webber, Wallace, Allen, Billups...

10's (so far):

G: Paul
G: Wade (because I don't have him on the previous squad and there's not other guard that really stands out)
F: Durant
F: LeBron (absolute peak and rings)
C: Dwight

HM - Rose, Carmelo (could be 00's too), Gasol(s), Parker, Al Jefferson, Westbrook, Curry...

So yea, I pretty much agree with you except on a few cases.

List em

Top 5: Wilt and Russell - this is a near consensus over last several decades
Top 15: Oscar and West, making 4 - majority opinion
Top 20: Baylor - has as good a case as anyone else - most have him top 20

So that makes 5 in the top 20, 4 in the top 15, 2 in the top 5

If you were to have Hondo coming off the bench, then you arguably have 6 in the top 20, but that's more controversial.

60s had the most top 20 all-time talent of any era.

That's because he's/you're not repeating players...

If you really wanna go that route:

MJ strated his prime in the 80's, won MVP or DPOY;
Kareem was still in his prime in the early 80's, won MVP in 1980, one of the GOAT Finals in 1985, played til 1989;
Bird had his peak in the 1980's, nough said;
Magic's situation is similar to Bird's;
Hakeem was a rookie in 1984-85;
Moses Malone peaked in 1982/1983;
Dr J won MVP in 1981;
Karl Malone was coming into his own around 1988;
Barkley started his career and prime in the 80's;
Isiah had his best years in the 80's;
McHale and Worthy had their best years in the 1980's;
Drexler and Ewing started their primes in the 80's;
......

So you got the player who's viewed as GOAT by most, another top3 player, two players who are most/many times viewed as top5, Hakeem is top10 in many/most accounts, Moses and Erving are top15 and Karl is close if not there, Barkley is top20, Zeke is top30 or so, McHale and Worthy are top50... and I'm not even scratching the surface there.

Agree with all of that 100%, except for Wilt as top5 (100% it is, I'd say more like 40% imo, I have Bird and Magic above but he also has a great case). And I have Hondo in my top20.

Let's make the 60's legit...

SG: West
PG: Oscar
SF: Baylor
PF: Lucas
C: Wilt

Russell was a CENTER. Furthermore, Chamberlain held a 7-2 margin over Russell in the entire decade of the 60's in First Team All-NBA selections.

If you want to make a claim that Russell was the best center of the 50's...sure. He certainly was from '57 thru '59.

60s is comparable.

You have Russell, Wilt, West, Robertson, Baylor and Pettit. No explanation needed on these guys.

Than you have Cousy who was a round in the early 60s. Havlicek also around the mid 60s.

Rick Barry was around.
The Knicks with Reed and Frazier.
Veterans Arizin and Schayes were still all stars in the early 60s.

For the 3rd time, if Wade was making the list i had to put him on the 10's list and idk why everyone acting like he dosnt deserve to be on there he went to the finals 4 times after 10
could of had a FMVP if it wasnt for Lechoke in 2011

If Bob Cousy played me in my prime (if I was transported to the 50's) he would have retired. He wouldn't have been able to do shit against me.

2010's will end up being:

Steph Curry (his 2013 to 2020 get him here).
James Harden (unless Wiggins can crush it from here on out)
Lebron James (his 2010 to 2014 alone get him here, depends on KD's rise).
Anthony Davis (lock unless he's hurt)
Demarcus Cousins (sadly)

Nash over Kidd looks good to me. KG over Dirk is close though. If Dirk won in 06 or if the 11 championship was two year prior, he takes it over KG.
