That truck is very small, it's just a day cab with a wheelbase probably well under 200". And of course they are putting a trailer(s) on it, where else is he supposed to put the freight? On the seat next to him?:confusedshrug:

If people didn't immediately think of their mother****ing phones when something happened...Keep your hands on the damn wheel while you are driving, highway is blocked by a truck on a rainy day? Keep an eye on your mirrors and pull over in a relatively safe spot beside the road and even if you want to stay on the road make sure you are ready to react.
ETA: I hope he dialed 911 at least since he just took off like that.

I was blocked by two trucks on south bound I-95 at exit 9 in NJ (New Brunswick exit). I only wanted to take a picture while i was awaiting for them to clear up... And then I heard a noise from behind...I was barely missed.
UPDATE (moved from the bottom of the description, since no one bothers to read it): Once I turned off camera, I called in 911 and reported the accident. After that I came to the truck and the rest of the cars to verify they were alright. After arrival of NJ State Trooper and his dismissal confirming that he does not require my presence, I left the scene.

Not really sure what I'd have been able to do if I were in the same position. I'd like to think I could follow the logic we see on tape, where we notice he could have pulled up a car length or two or swerved into the middle lane where there was a gap.

But if he were already in park (sounds like hazards) and if you have only three seconds to react (the amount of time between the initial truck spin start and its contact with the opposite wall, I must admit I do not know if I'd be able to perfectly elude that situation with grace.

Maybe I'm too cautious but dude had stopped on the fastest lane and clearly had enough time to get his camera ready to record the incident. Not saying he should have seen a near death experience coming but when that moment comes you must at least be able to immediately hit drive or reverse whatever the situation calls for. If this guy had stopped a meter or two behind he would have definitely needed to drive that same distance to get to safety.
