I really dont understand American sports obsession with top 5 lists.... Top 10.....top 5 in their position...... Top 10....top 5 of all time.... Top ten all time... Top 100.....goat.........

Everything around in American sports revolves around these stupid rankings. Fans and especially the media alike. Gets pretty annoying! Not having a go at u specifically its just the culture of American sport.

Personally id say

Marc gasol
Howard
Cousins
Horford
Bogut

That is unfortunate that you feel that way because you're one of my top five favorite posters.

You were going to make my list.

1. DeMarcus Cousins is averaging 25.6 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.8 blocks on a 56.0 TS% with a 25.8 PER. Oh, and the Kings are 14-16 with him and 2-10 without him.

2. Marc Gasol has been phenomenal for the Grizzlies with 19.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.7 blocks on 57.0 TS% with a 22.7 PER. Did I mention his offensive rating of 112 and defensive rating of 101? Plus, he has led the Grizzlies alongside Zach Randolph and Mike Conley to 3rd in the harsh Western Conference so far.

3. Al Horford, despite only playing 30.4 minutes, is averaging 15.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks on a 56.7 TS% with a 20.8 PER. Most importantly, is that he has led the Hawks with Jeff Teague and Paul Millsap to a 28-2 record (9-0 in the West) after a 7-6 start (1-2 in the West).

4. DeAndre Jordan has been insane with 10.0 points, 13.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks on a 72.1 FG%. This isn't to mention his PER of 19.8, offensive rating of 130, and defensive rating of 100. He is the league leader in rebounds and 2nd in blocks whilst remaining the most efficient player currently.

5. Andrew Bogut is 6.5 points and 8.7 rebounds (on 24.2 minutes) with a 55.2 TS% and 16.1 PER. However, he has been dominant defensively with a defensive rating of 94, whilst forcing opponents to shoot 42.8% around the rim.

Honorable Mentions - Dwight Howard, Tyson Chandler, Nikola Vucevic

Come on man, Nikola Vucevic is averaging 19/11 and doesn't even get an honorable mention?

Reminds me of how a large portion of ISH tried to argue he was over paid and laughed at me when I said he would be pushing top 5 for centres this season especially on offence. None of them would admit they hadn't actually watched him consistently.

I forgot about him, to be honest. I rarely watch the Magic (or the Knicks, Jazz, and 76ers) play but I've heard from others that his stats are inflated from being on a lottery team (similarly to Kevin Love in 2010-11). With that said, I'll give him a mention.

Kevin Martin averages 20.4/3,7/1.9 and shoots 48/48/87 and no one would say he is a top 5 SG.

Like someone above said lottery inflated stats.

Have you watched Vucevic play basketball? His post up moves and jump shot don't just disappear on a better team. I agree with inflated stats if he was someone like carter williams who's getting a big increase in usage but Vucevic isn't getting fed the ball at an overly high rate on this Orlando team. His rebounds may be pushed up abit but he is still talented to be borderline top 5 especially when the emphasis is on his offence. Kevin Martin isn't a top 5 SG because of more than stats.

Switch Howard and Bogut and I agree. Bogut doesn't play enough to be a bigger impact over the course of a game than Dwight is.

I could see him pull the Kevin Love if he was traded to a good team right now.

Kid has hugh potential doe, could see him become a Gasol type player.

Eh..Bogut's dominance on the defensive end despite only playing 24 minutes is incredible. He is the defensive anchor for the Warriors, who are 25-2 with him and 9-4 without him. Howard's having his 3rd worst statistical season, which is saying a lot considering only his rookie and sophomore years are worse. Howard's still an impactful two-way player, just not like he was a year ago. It's still close though. Howard is still one of the top post defenders in the game.
