View Full Version : Rubio's ankle injury worse than T-Wolves initially thought

"It has been almost 11 weeks since he went down with a severely sprained left ankle, and the length of his recovery has drawn impatience from a fan base desperate to see Rubio throw lob passes to Andrew Wiggins.

But on a night when the Wolves finally got center Nikola Pekovic back from a 31-game absence, coach Flip Saunders shed some light on the nature of Rubio

Wolves should try to move away from Rubio anyway even if he returns healthy. He is an OK pg, but he is too ball dominant of a PG for for Wiggins. Before you confuse me for calling him a shoot first PG, I understand he is pass first, but he likes to initiate the offense while Wiggins needs to have the ball in his hands more (ala LeBron) and not just be a finisher.

Rubes needs to take some better bone/joint/tendon supplements.

Yea we had a look at his earlier scans and noticed some ligament damage in and around his toes. Hence, why he's been out for almost the entire season.

Send him packing back to Europe. He's not even better than Rudy.

Last I saw he was playing in Australia a few years back . I didn't even see it drummed up as a promotion tool like they do whenever an ex nba player is in the league

How long have they realised this? Can't say I've been following his recovery too much despite him being a favourite of mine, but I kept hearing a Christmas-January return (which seemed excessive for a sprain anyway) but that's seriously bad news. Barely got to see him play with the new team this season
