Kobe got voted in because you aren't going to get many chances to see him in one anymore and he's always took it seriously. If he plays, he's the type of player that thrives in something like this and puts on a show. Sure, guys like Harden and Klay got robbed of starting but Kobe's time is nearly done, the next few years will be open for that starting spot and may even this year if Kobe can't play.

Edit: More than likely, he's not playing as it is. Haven't been kept up to date with his injury so...it doesn't really matter in the end.

No one is calling Durant a crap player. :facepalm
However, there is no denying that it is almost unheard of for the reigning MVP of the league to not be voted into the All Star game by fans. Despite Durant being over protected by refs there is no denying that he is a great player, but the fans just don't find him exciting.

You said the exact same thing in 1992 when Magic Johnson was put in despite not playing at all, correct? Kevin Garnett being voted in the 2013 All-Star game despite several better forwards must have been devasting for you, huh? SF - Durant
SG - Harden/Thompson
PG - Curry/Paul/Lillard/Westbrook

That's one hell of an allstar team :applause:

Happy for Lowry, genuinely deserves it. But still, the fans shouldn't ever be able to vote.

Yeah, people forget that the all star game is mainly for the fans.

Wow Wade fell off in the last week of voting? Crazy that almost never happens.

Justin Bieber tweeted his zillions of followers and asked them to vote for Lowry, and Lowry surged after that. Drake and other Canadian celebrities mobilized for Lowry too. But, Bieber changed the game.

Congratulations you little *****, you and your fangirls just dented the legacy of an all-time-great for a one hit wonder.

From now on, Lowry is Kyle Bieber or maybe just Bieber.

Lowry and Wall deserve it.

Griffin and Melo I'm not so sure.

I'm more impressed with Duncan, still doing work at 38, getting more votes than Durant. It's like other than Melo and Kobe from big market teams, fans are starting to appreciate good basketball

And that's without the vote of huge Duncan fans like myself who think he should be resting. Haven't voted for TD for all-star since he got old.

i still find it hilarious that the former "mvp" isn't starting.  i'm sure he's played enough games to qualify.

Lol.

Lowry has played really good basketball this year, but Bieber mobilizing his army of teenage girls to put him in as an AS starter is incredibly lame.

who gives a damn about all star selections

like someone is going to bring that up in Wade's accomplishments

he started 13 times instead of 14!

besides, how the fvck does Wade deserve anything over Lowry this year?

To be more specific, it's the reigning MVP isn't starting.

Drake lowkey abandoned the team when he found out the gold colour wasn't permanent for the new jerseys brand. He didn't even send out a vote for Kyle; been silent this whole time about the team. Stephen Harper had more to do with the voting than Drake.

Kyle is also 100% deserving of his starting spot over Wade. He's put up top numbers on a winning team and that is more worthy than what Wade has done for Miami, who have a losing record at the moment and probably heading into the break.

As for being a "one hit wonder", I highly doubt that since next year the ASG will be held into Toronto and I see at least 3 more years of elite play barring any injuries. Also, last season when Kyle got screwed over by the coaches (do they really know any better ?) for picking Joe Johnson over him, despite Joe having inferior stats and a losing record at the time.

All in all, this is very much deserving even if Bieber was a big part of the turnaround.

so what ghey corny twist will they add to the Dunk contest this year?

Hopefully it's not DeRozan or Wall jumping over Nick Cannon while dunking a ball and a pair of Christian Louboutin studded loafers at the same time.

Geez
