Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is expected to miss the remainder of the season with a torn rotator cuff, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

Bryant, who was being examined by team doctors Friday, suffered the tear during the second half of Wednesday night's loss to New Orleans, though sources said he has been dealing with the injury since the preseason.

why does the OP sound relieved?

lol @ some of these people hoping that someone retires, think about how you would feel about people if they hoped that you got fired

Doctor said if it's a small tear, then he could be back in less than 2wks.

If it's a complete tear, then he needs surgery and done for the season.

Is he just going to come back to collect that massive check? Kind of selfish. Just retire dude. I mean if 2013 wasn't a dead give away of his body finally saying "I give up" ... the knee injury last year after just 6 games, then a torn rotator cuff half way through this season after sitting out resting for a lot of games? Your mind needs to come to the acceptance phase of what your body is telling you, Kobe. Accomplished your goal, you passed Jordan on the scoring list. Like Frozen, Let It Go.
