To me they are still clearly the best players in the NBA. However given the circumstances can they do enough to bring them back in the MVP conversation.

For instance the Cavs record with Lebron is 23-12, and if he improves his numbers and the team keeps winning can he be in the conversation?

LeBron for sure can if they make it to the 2nd place in the East and he keeps playing like he has been since resting (while cutting down TOs) and Klay keeps stealing Curry's spotlight

Regardless how well KD plays the rest of the way, I don't think he'll have played enough games to get the nod.

If he doesn't miss another game this RS, he'll end with like 61 played.

They will be in the conversation, but I doubt either one will actually win.

Both the Thunder and Cavs are looking at 50-wins at best, while the Warriors are on track for 65 ...

Nope. Right now, the MVP watch is:

Curry
Harden
Jeff Teague (Yeah I can't believe it either)
Lillard
Marc Gasol
Wall

Nobody is beating out Curry unless he gets hurt, the Warriors fall down the standings, or Curry himself really struggles.

LeBron has a shot if the Cavs can get to 2nd in the East but the disparity in team record (Cleveland at best will be in the low 50's in wins) plus the time he missed would ultimately doom him vis-

harden or curry will get it. would take kd and lbj over either in the playoffs though, pretty much a no-brainer

It's still surreal knowing that so many people have Curry at #1 for MVP...never though I'd see the day

So true. Would have been ludicrous just 2 years ago.

I think LBJ has a slight chance if Cleveland goes on a big run and he continues to dominate. Curry and Harden will probably steal votes from each other so in any case I expect it to be close...

Starting to think Lebron is gunning for it.

Klay Thompson will be the MVP.
