You don't reward a player for good team success, who reward the one's who does the most with the least while dominating the game.

Last season, Kevin Durant won the MVP because he carried his Thunder team to the playoffs while putting up godly stats in the process (sounds a lot like James Harden). Last season, Tony Parker was elite piece in the collective unit that the Spurs had to obtain HCA throughout the playoffs (sounds a lot like Stephen Curry). That's the difference between dominant players and a good piece to a system.

James Harden is likely gonna be the only All-Star on his HOU squad, yet you could argue Golden State deserves THREE All-Stars.

Look over the last 5 games both players have had and you'll see Stephen Curry can easily coast through stretches of games and still get the victory.

STEPHEN CURRY:

This is of course an unbiased thread and should be treated as so.

if the season ended today Curry would win it, he's been unreal this season, best team in the league and BTW the team record plays a big role in who wins the MVP

We'll see how it goes the rest of the season, but its true the voters tend to go for players who do more with less. Klay going for 50 actually hurts Steph's MVP chances.

In addition voters like it when key players get injured. If Dwight stayed injured and Harden keeps doing what he's doing then he'd get it. If Klay got injured and Steph keeps doing what he's doing then he'd get the MVP. Hell, if LMA had surgery and Lillard kept ballin and portland won then he'd be a serious candidate. Rightfully so, but people like storylines more then numbers.

This has never been the case for MVP. You're just making shit up now.

Curry would easily win MVP if the vote took place right now. We can all argue about whether he should or not, but there is no debate that he'd win it right now.

With Harden/Rockets falling off a bit...there simply is no other candidate that could get more votes than Curry right now.

Why didn't Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, or Kawhi Leonard win MVP last season?

The only exception to the statement I made are unanimous MVPs, like the Lebrons of the world.
