It could easily happen. The season's only half over. Cleveland will prob still end up top 3 in the East, which is close enough to put him in contention.

Agreed.
Unfortunately the media..cough Windhorst cough... have sabotaged his chances by writing a bunch of fictional articles about him trying to get his coach fired. This was a deliberate attempt to make Lebron appear less likable and get others to not vote for him. Basically fat boy taking his revenge over Lebron giving his coming home story to SI.

Probably. But I don't see the Warriors maintaining this kind of play for 82 games, while I think the Cavs will continue to get better.

Either way, LBJ is back to being the best player in the league and that's good enough for the Cavs. Curry can have the regular season hardware if he keeps this up. He will have earned it, but I'll ride with LeBron in the playoffs.

He's not winning it unless the media completely changes the criteria, which I wouldn't put past them. MVP has always gone to the best player on the best team. If not the best team, it goes to somebody on a top 5 team, at least.

Just watch Curry get absolutely screwed.

SA had the best record last year. KD won it on a 50+ win team.

Chicago and SA both had better records than Miami in 2011-12. LeBron won it.

There is plenty of precedent for players on teams that don't necessarily have the best record, but very good records, getting the MVP. With the way the Cavs are playing right now, they could easily get to that 50-win plateau that has usually disqualified guys from MVP conversations. J/S

I said top 5 team, which the Cavs probably won't be by the end of the season.

Regardless, Steph Curry is a superstar (overall leader in all star votes) who will most likely end up leading his team to 65+ wins. It would be a crime against humanity if he doesn't get MVP. The award would lose any credibility it had left.

Yea, it depends if the cavs can get 50+ wins.

If Curry leads Warriors to 65+ wins he deserves it.

If they end up with around 60 and Cavs get maybe 55 then it would be close.

Right now:
Curry: 23/8/5
Lebron: 26/7/6

We'll see how the numbers look towards the end of the season

His impact once again has been unprecedented this year, and we can see it in their with/without records.

Did you forget that LeBron led the MVP Race in late February after he came into OKC and took a big fat dumb on Durant? AND then dropped 61? LeBron was the one that gave the award away with one of the worst stretches of his career, KD didn't regain the #1 spot by spectacular play, he was already a bit burned out in the last month.

If he & Cavs played like this since the start of the season and he didnt miss two weeks.... he sure would be the favorite at the moment...

It all has to translate to team success and it does for Lebron/Cavs since he returned... but its a bit to late considering whats going on with example Houston/Harden, Cavs will have to go on a insane winning spree to catch up...

If they keep winning at a 2/3 base, they'll end up with 49 to 50 wins, which is just enough to make the playoffs in the west - and they'd do it in a conference where the 8th seed is on a 35 win pace.

How many did Lebron beat in his playoff career?

I forget.
 @ beating the Thuggets, Suns, and the Jazz.

Are you gonna ignore the FACT that LeBron beat Pierce, Duncan, Manu, KG, TP, KD, WB, Harden, Allen, Rondo, Melo, George, Deron, etc.. Oh, and he did it with an injured Wade as his 2nd best player. Lets not act like some of those teams could even stop LeBron.

Deal with it, kid. LeBron at 29 (yeah, not even 30) is higher than Kobrick on the all time list.
