How far do you expect the MVP of the league to lead their teams in the playoffs? Championship? Finals appearance? Conference finals?

Which MVPs in recent memory underachieved? (07 Dirk is the obvious one)

Which MVP selection you did not agree with, but was proven wrong in the playoffs?

Discuss.

I don't understand how an MVP selection can be proven wrong in the playoffs. It is a regular season award, playoffs should not play a part in determining the winner.

To me an MVP is someone who is the clear cut best player on their team, leads their team to a high-ish seed and is able to showcase a level of brilliance that can multiple times drag his team over the line.

If MVP is a regular season award, then playoff performance doesn't factor in at all.

I understand it's a regular season award. So?

You don't expect them to carry their regular season success into the playoffs?

Has there not been a MVP selection that you were scratching your head about, but completely changed your minds in the playoffs?

Okay then, let me put it in other words...

Which MVPs carried their regular season success into the playoffs?

Which ones did not?
