Do you think teams would avoid it or start adapting to utilize it more?

I always think the NBA should make any shot behind the half court line count as 4 points.

LeBron has infinite range. This would benefit him greatly.

In all seriousness, I've always thought the NBA and NFL should adopt something like this.

NBA:
3p from 23'9 (current, I believe).
4p from 28'
5p from 35'+

NFL:
Use fantasy FG scoring.

Honestly, not only is it logical, but it would make games more exciting, as currently "insurmountable" leads are now.. surmountable.

Though to answer the OP... I think if the NFL version were done, teams would adapt and use it more.

In the NBA, however, I don't think so. At least not right away. Right away it would be something used in desperate situations.

However, we all know specialists would start coming around.
