:oldlol: Holy ****ing shit. That is borderline firable. That is a factually incorrect statement, Lebron has Kyrie beat in almost every offensive statistic. How can ESPN allow him to spout complete bullshit like this on their highest rated show?

Who's better than him? Kyrie is the best finisher around the rim, mid range shooter, 3pt shooter on the team easily...LeBald is good at alleyoops and thats it. Rest of his points come from fastbreak buckets created by Kyrie defense.

Certainly not Kobe.
What's he averaging? Like 21 points on 11% shooting? 1 assist?

Hey, idiot. It doesn't matter how you put the ball in the basket, it's the same 2 points regardless (but I wouldn't expect someone who idolizes a 38% chucker to understand this). Lebron scores more points on higher efficiency, and gets more assists than his PG. There is no argument for Kyrie at all.

Irving is averaging 24.5 points, 5.4 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 2.2 steals while shooting 54 percent (65-of-119) from the field, including 54 percent (20-of-37) from three-point range during the seven-game winning streak. Playing good defense as well, posted this in the team section but seems it applies here too.

He doesn't play for the cavs. Aren't you asking who's the best offensive player on the Cavs? The answer is Kyrie.

And what happened to the Cavs offense once LeBron got hurt?

I don't put much stock in what Stephen A or Skip have to say. Skip in particular regularly tries to advance horrible arguments. Dude has zero credibility, he's just a giant troll.

haven't read the thread yet so it's probably been said already, but Stephen A. is really saying lebron has no moves, or at least he can't create his own shot (without needing a screen) nearly as well as kyrie can.
which is true.. kyrie's offensive game is pretty complete, even his post repertoire is sophisticated... his drop-step could use some work, but that's nitpicking - only a handful of non-big men in history have ever been elite finishers (like big men) off a drop-step.
kyrie's superior offensive repertoire allows him to attack at any moment, without needing the considerable setup time lebron does - not needing setup time to score has been a hallmark of all truly elite scorers in history.
btw, Stephen A's comment shows that he's been watching the game a long time.

Kyrie has the best scoring skillset on the Cavs. And in terms of point guards, he's in the top three along with Curry and Lillard. What I mean by scoring skillset is the variety (shooting, handles, slashing, craftiness) of his scoring arsenal.
He also is a score first player while Bron is a pass first player. But do I think he's a better or more dominant scorer than Bron? NO! And when you say offensive (which to me means scoring and passing as a package), Bron and Curry are the best in the world right now.
Just because u are a score first player, it DOESN'T mean u are a better scorer than a pass first style player. Or else JR Smith would be a better scorer than Lebron. Or Byron Scott back in the day would have been a better scorer than Magic.
So is Kyrie close to Bron's scoring capabilities? I think he is, but he has to prove it over the long haul. As I stated before, he has a better scoring skillset and a score first mentality. BUT Bron has PROVEN he can average 27-30 points a night BEING a pass first player! The way a Bron or Bird for that matter could get 27-30 points is more impressive because of how they see the game. The only players in today's game I would say are better than Bron scoring are Durant and Melo.
I would expect that from Skip Bayless but Stephen?
Pretty sure SAS argued Curry>LeBron on offense last year as well. Amazingly, Skip defended LeBron and said SAS was full of it.
@bizil:
LeBron is clearly a superior scorer than Melo. Only Durant is better.

Just because some analyst goes retard doesnt mean you are allowed to aswell? Lebron is better than Kyrie at literally every offensively... except ballhandling.... and oh he shoots better FT%.... i know you are probably a Lebron cynic or something, but stop it, you look like a moron, its better to just say "I hate Lebron", then everything you say makes sense afterwards. Lebron is the best & most impactful overall offensive player in the league..... and Kyrie is not even close to be even top 10 in that regard....
The only reasonable response here for us is to laugh at Stephen A Smith and move on.

For starters, I said Bron is the better scorer and offensive player in general. However when it comes to total scoring skillset, Kyrie IS MORE SKILLED in the things he can do. The MAIN TWO THINGS are the ball handling AND SHOOTING!! Kyrie is shooting damn near 40% from three ball with 81 made. So Kyrie IS A BETTER SHOOTER AND BALL HANDLER than Bron.

Scoring numbers wise, they are similar. Bron is more efficient. However, Melo's alpha dog gene and scoring arsenal is better than Bron's. So I would take Melo as the better scorer over Bron. It's more about taste and NOT so much about production and dominance. They are around the same level when it comes to that.

I can't believe people still take what's said on that show seriously. Stephen A is just as much of a phony as Skip. People just don't notice as much since he's usually playing the part of the "good guy." Both of them will say anything that they think will boost their shows ratings, and based on how much they get paid I honestly can't blame them.
