Do these fans not realize they are being milked from a marketing gimmick? Both sound extremely lame, especially the "12's" for being the biggest bandwagon fan base in football and posing as hardcore fans.

Is there anything in history that was worse?

We the North is so bad. Most Raptor fans cannot see this, though. I thought I was being too critical but it just sounds so retarded

The only reason I think "we the north" sounds cool is because of GoT :lol

We the North mostly seems like a thing on twitter, message boards, etc.

I've actually sat in a sportsbar discussing the NFL with people and there was this one guy who prefaced nearly every sentence with "Well as a 12, I think..." or "Us 12s would..." The same guy drives a SUV with a huge ass "12" sticker and the seahawks logo and I don't believe he has any connection with Seattle or the PNW besides liking Frasier.

I don't mind the Seahawks, and was actually a bit fond of them back when they had the old colours, shawn alexander, all that jazz. But the 12th man shit is probably one of the most cringeworthy things in all of sports.

The 12's is becoming really annoying the closer to Superbowl. They've actually combined the 2. Fans being interviewed chanting "We the 12's!"

:facepalm

If we're being talked about this much in the US, we must be doing something right, "lame" slogan or not. :oldlol: #winning

As a fan of both the Seahawks and the Raptors - "the 12s" is lamer.

The 12's is fitting, not because they're the 12th man, but because that's the year the Seahawks became relevant again(Wilson's rookie season/made divisionals)

12 represents the year they starting following the NFL :lol

:biggums:

I have never in my life heard Texas A&M and the 12th man slogan.

The Hawks have used the 12th man slogan for a long a$$ time now.

Wrong. The 12th man came from a magazine in 1900 by U of Minnesota. A&M might have popularized the slogan, but they didn't invent it.

A&M 12th man tradition dates back to 1922 bro.

They've also trademarked it since 1989 and Seattle pays them an annual fee to be able to use the 12th man trademark.

Seattle is allowed to use it because Texas A&M lets them.

12th man because there's 53 players in an NFL roster, so they really should be the 54th man.
