My order:
1. C: Shaq, Wilt, Kareem, Olujawon, Robinson
2. Sg: Jordan, Kobe, Wade, West, Drexler
3. Pf: Duncan, Charles, Malone, KG, Dirk
4. Sf: Bird, Lebron, Dr. J, Barry, Pippen
5. Pg: Magic, Stockton, Kidd, Isiah, Nash
*yes, I know I left off Bill Russell. I think he was dominant cuz of his era and wouldn't be top 5 in a future era - maybe i'm wrong, maybe i'm not. This list is not based purely off achievements, but moreso how good I think they would be today for a 3-5 year stretch irregardless of era.

Centre seems the pretty clear winner... if you took the 5 year prime stretch of each player.

Barry
Dr J
Bird
LeBron
West
Kobe

I think the PFs take this one easy. Too versatile, too skilled. Too strong, too quick. They got people who can D the paint, bang inside, rebound, make outside shots, pass the ball, everything.
C: Duncan
PF: Mailman
SF: KG
SG: Dirk
PG: Charles
The same reason why I would take the PFs overall as well.

Kareem
Russell (gotta be top3 imo, let alone top5)
Wilt
Shaq
Hakeem
Moses (who's above D-Rob)
...
Centers definitely take this. Hey, it's a tall men's sport.
I wouldn't put SG's at 2nd though... You got Jordan, Kobe, West, Wade, Drexler but then "not much more" to, overall, mess with the likes of:
Bird
LeBron
Erving
Hondo
Baylor
Barry
Pippen
...
or
Duncan
Malone
KG
Pettit
Barkley
Dirk
Hayes
...
In terms of overall talent, skill & stats i would go with:
1(a/b). SFs:
Bird
Lebron
Baylor
Julius
Barry
(havlicek, pippen, durant, t-mac and so on)
1(a/b). Cs:
Wilt
Kareem
Hakeem
Shaq
David
(ewing, russell)
3. PFs:
Duncan
Barkley
KG
Malone
Dirk
4. SGs:
Jordan
Kobe
West
Wade
Drexler
5. PGs:
Magic
Oscar
Stockton
Isiah
Cousy
In terms of accolades the Center's take this easily.... you add Russell there and now you have ~5 Centers in the Top 10... Duncan has played half his career as a Center aswell so you hypothetically have ~6 Centers in top 10....
So overall i would say CENTER.
The Guards have been the weakest i think, although one player there just so happened to be the best player ever, but with that said there is a huge gap between Jordan and the next Guards ranked behind him, especially at SG.... there has been many great Guards, they just didnt have as many prominent players as Cs & Forwards had.

All time is clearly center. I mean, if you can find a way to justify leaving Russell off, you know that position is legit.
