Would they be title favorites?

Kobe is way too selfish to play in a system like that. They wouldn't be the same. Kobe would turn them from title contenders to first round exit

Korver > Kobe

Kobe is one of the last people that would ever play in Coach Bud's system. I can't see it working.

They would be worse. Kobe is the antithesis of team ball.

Since when has Kobe ever been able to play without the ball in his hands 80% of the time? :biggums:
Kobe would ruin everything that makes this Hawk team great.

Bean won 5 titles you morons. Obviously he can play team ball.

You do realize that Milsapp and Horford are arguably better than any big Kobe has played with except Shaq and Teague is MUCH better than any PG he's played with. Peak Kobe on that squad wins a title EASILY....

Actually, it could work.

Bud would have to rework the system a little, but I think Kobe would be able to trust his team, unlike when Kwame and Smush were starting.

Except Milsapp and Horford play a style that will compliment each other, as well as compliment Teague's game.

Kobe ball = cancer ball

It would hard because Kobe is a rhythm player who needs his shots.
Could he accept scoring 10 points in a game?
Our system works based upon the talent that we have. It may not work with every team.

LMFAO:roll: Kobe is the last player one would want to add to this Hawks team. And also, where is the dominant big that Kobe has always needed to win?

Kobe helped/was an instrumental part to his teams winning 5 championships. There is absolutely nothing that suggests dude at his peak wouldn't be competing for a title w/ Atlanta. Absolutely nothing.

Gasol isn't dominant. Horford = Gasol.

Coach Bud just has to figure out a way to let Kobe get his 20FGA without messing up the amazing team ball they've developed.

I may be wrong, but hasn't Kobe seen more NBA finals then the Hawks franchise ever has? Why would he wanna play for them in the first place

Except the same stock Kobe hater excuses for why he can't do this or that. Always some variation of the same bullshit. Funny part is they actually believe it.

Think I read someone say he can't win without Shaq the other day. :facepalm

Maybe, but with peak Lebron or Duncan they'd be even more title favorite.

Kobe's actually been to multiple Finals , unlike the real overrated players that some ISHers deepthroat, like Cp3 and Nash.

I'm not sure about a first round exit, they would still be a good team, but I don't think they get any better because they would go from great movement on every offensive possession to about 50% iso-ball. Kobe at his peak with this current team would obviously be good, but the chemistry would be MUCH different. Name a Kobe team that was a group full of happy guys when it comes to the way the team is playing and their role in it?

Gasol isn't dominant. Horford = Gasol.

Gasol almost won FMVP, and the combination of Bynum and Gasol and Odom made that front court pretty fkin dominant.

That's true, but the same Phil Jackson who wrote that book subsequently coached Kobe again, calling him a great leader and teammate. They also won another 2 championships after the fact.

One good game doesn't warrant you Finals MVP, just like one bad game doesn't absolve you from it. Kobe was the most consistent in the 2010 Finals on the Lakers. Gasol had a monster game 7, there's no doubt, but he was not the MVP of that series. One too many Gasoft games.

Not even close to dominant.

Bynum was injured. Luc Longley = injured Bynum. Odom is overrated. Draymond Green > Odom. Gasol could easily be replaced by several players. Gasol didn't show up for game 5 while Kobe beasted.

You're a Kobe Stan, but you know that comparing Milsap or Horford to 09-10 Gasol is fcking crazy.

Nobody in their right mind would take either of those two guys over him.

--

Hawks would certainly be contenders with Kobe. But they wouldn't have their current system. Kobe's is a team player most of the time, but he's not that much of a team player.

Horford/Millsap is a slightly weaker pau/Odom.. But Hawks have a much better backcourt.

Lots of salt in this thread.. Kobe knew well how to go into facilitate mode and save his isos for crunch time only.. Haters Go rewatch 08 playoffs where he worked that formula perfectly until they ran into an atg defense that doesn't exist in today's league.

Why the **** are you lumping me in with some random opinion
i didn't state? I never said nor do I think they're better than Gasol.

That Team of players is better tho. That Lakers Team never had a Korver or Jeff Teague player either.

lakers from 2008-2010. they all played well together and everyone seemed happy, especially because they were winning

:oldlol: The revisionist history is hilarious. People were talking about Kobe being finals MVP after game 5 if the Lakers lost the series. Gasol was never even in the conversation. Not once.
