No more of them starting together. They are great together once in a while and I'm not saying Thibs shouldn't play them together at all. But I think one needs to start and one needs to come off the bench.
Starting lineup:
C: Noah
PF: Taj
SF: Dunleavy
SG: Butler
PG: Rose
Bench:
C: Gasol
PF: Mirotic
SF: McDermott/Snell
SG: Hinrich
PG: Brooks

its got to be gasol, and move noah back to center where he belongs. Im looking forward to mirotic getting more minutes too, miro plus dunleavy can open up the paint for jimmy and derrick

I love this lineup. Gibson needs to start. They need to get that defensive intensity back up, and this would be a great way to do it.

Isn't Gasol a bit of a diva? I remember him rejecting the notion of Dantoni bringing him off the bench

Gasol off the bench at C position, please. Feast at old age on second units. Start Gibson to help boster the defense please. Play Mirotic with Gasol's low post passing ability. I thought that was obvious what they should've done from the start. Pau's ego couldn't handle coming off the bench though.

Yes, Pau would be pissed.
He's a nice guy, but is definitely a bit of a whiner.

Gibson has not looked great this season though.

Nah, Pau should continue to start alongisde Noah but on a shorter leash. Noah should be anchoring that defense as he has proven he is elite at that while Pau is just not good enough.
For Pau to be on the court extended minutes he needs to feel the pressure of having to win his matchup and not taking so many plays off on defense. He needs to make opponents pay when they go small, otherwise he should be benched. He is 34 and the game is played at a faster pace now, there is no way you can just expect him to be effective every night vs any team.
The most annoying thing is the Bulls can easily afford benching him some nights for more defense and athleticism (Taj) or outside shooting (Mirotic), 2 things they have sorely needed so far. I am sure Pau would benefit from the extra rest nights like these would provide but Thibs insists on using him like he is this superstar on his prime... newsflash buddy, you don't get players like that through FA for $7m a year.
I know injuries and Mirotic's poor defense and inconsistency need to be taking into account too but it's clear Pau's role needs to change for this team to stop playing mediocre basketball. His all-star selection makes it even more unlikely now though :oldlol:

Looks good, I was so hyped when the Bulls got Pau but reality kicks in, he is defensive liability. Also, Rose should stop chucking threes, it's hurting them. I think things will look good again once Dunleavy returns. He makes the game easier for Derrick and Jimmy due to his spacing.
