:facepalm Stupid idea. This honor should be for the cream of the crop only. All the league needs to do is take away fan voting so that undeserving players like Kobe and Duncan don't get in.

Except half the people who vote don't even watch the game. :facepalm
You really think all the Justin Bieber fan girls who voted for Lowry are going to tune into the All Star game?

JT normally post shit but he might be right this time.
Don't let the names decide who makes the team. It's a popularity contest now but players who played at the highest level should get awarded.

But it's the people choice mang. And most of those player aside from Kobe would prefer to just relax they weary knees and feet seating at home watching crappy movies with their family instead of playing more basketball than they have too. When you are young I can see the good thing about but Kobe and Duncan been there for 10+ years and they are probably sick of it.

I'd rather have them expand the roster to 20 for both conferences. If the league is heading to a competitive balance state by the years to come. We will end up having NBA super stars for almost every team.

I would rather have a separate All Star game for the older players if the league is so worried about the vets feeling disrespected. How the hell is a coach gonna find playing time for 20 players? :biggums:

All-Star voting from season ticket holders only, at the arena.
Also, I don't mind if they expand the roster a couple spots if they're going to continue to allow fan votes to make mistakes.
Or how about we get rid of East Coast and West Coast All-Star teams? Just take the best guys, regardless of Conference. Do it pick'em style like they do for the Rising Star game.

Play the guys that are working. If there's someone sucking, sit their ass down back to the bench.

It doesn't matter. That's how you give fans input for who goes to the game...voting. That's how it works.
If they want Iverson. Let 'em vote Iverson.

Why do people care so much about the all star game?:confusedshrug:
Take it for what it is, a bit of fun, fans get to vote who they like and coaches pick the rest. Seems fair enough.
OP is just a kobe hater and it burns him how many people in the world love kobe :lol

why isn't he trying to get rid of the east/west format
that would actually help, adding more is dumb

No need. Just don't let idiot fans vote in players like Kobe.
Maybe make it so you can ignore conferences.

it should be 10 guards, 10 forwards, 4 centers and then a fantasy draft by shaq and charles to decide the teams.

like all these ideas. NBA league pass holders should also be able to vote (so international fans can vote as well)
multiple votes should be disallowed.

The coach from the top seed from each conference (by allstar break) selected as conference coach. A player from the same team is selected as conference captain and is automatic allstar starter.
E.g. Kerr chooses Curry as his starting guard. Budenholzer chooses Horford as his.
Coach then selects his team from a pool of qualified players in his conference. The conference which win the allstar game have HCA in the finals.

The point remains that Duncan doesn't deserve to be there. If not for him and Kobe taking spots they didn't deserve there would be no snubs in the West this year. Expanding the rosters is stupid, just stop letting players in based on past career accomplishments. :confusedshrug:

You once agreed with yourself (dubeta account) that PER > all. The stat perfectly gauges a players' impact.
Duncan has the 12 best PER of any WC player, and a better one than Lillard.
Don't go backtracking on your points, negusta.

First of all...there needs to be 3 frontcourt reserves.
But secondly...Ellis? Are you being serious right now? :oldlol:
Here they are this season:
http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&y1=2015&p1=duncati01&y2=2015&p2=ellismo01&p3=&p4=&p5=&p6=
15/10/3/1/2 with DPOY-level defense for Duncan.
20/2/5/2/.5 with well below average defense for Ellis.
Duncan has a better PER (21.7 - 19.1), more Win Shares (4.7 - 3.8, even though Duncan has played 6 less games), a better WS/48 (.175 - .108), a better Box +/- (4.2 - 1.0), a better VORP (2.0 - 1.2), a better RPM (5.93, 8th in the league - 1.46, 80th in the league), and a better RAPM.
We're comparing a guy who still impacts the game like a top-level superstar to a guy who impacts the game like a star who gets a few too many touches.
I honestly don't think there's one category where Ellis beats Duncan. Even if you hate stats, you can't really make much of a case with that kind of evidence. Ellis is the third wheel on that team (Dirk and Chandler are their best players). The Spurs still play around Duncan, even to this day.

But if fan don't vote and coaches don't vote who will vote then. The media? They are even worse at choosing evaluating players than the fans.

Yeah. And I agree that Cousins > Duncan.
But I personally don't think Durant shouldn't have made it. He hasn't played nearly enough games. His 21 games are not worth more than Tim's 42. :confusedshrug:

So based on ONLY this year's performance, KD's 21 (?) games > than Duncan's 48 games?
