This story has always confused me because it all seemed to be the complete opposite of status quo. By that I mean, it seems like administrators freak out for a lot less these days and tend to err on the side of super-caution (think of kindergartners being expelled for bringing a plastic knife to school to cut his birthday cake).

Yet, in this case, a school seems to go out of their way to plan on their students making out with their parents in front of everyone, then merely offers a "Meh, we're sorry 'bout that" apology (http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/headlines/2011/12/principal-sorry-for-student-parent-kissing-prank/)

Not to sound prudish, but I feel like students kissing other students on such a stage is something 99.9% of school districts wouldn't go for. Yet, this school appeared to have little qualms with one-upping such an endeavor.

Separately, I am in disbelief with how many parents were ready to dive in and make it happen to the degree with which they did.

After possibly making myself look like an idiot, was this all fake? I see many stories on the school's apology, so I was led to believe it was real.
